After thinking about it for some time now I finally made up my mind and bought the tickets to Thailand, I'll be coming over for three weeks starting in mid March, and the next step is finding a suitable hotel. The three I have on my mind right now are August Suites, April Suites or Nova Gold. Nova Gold seems quite nice but it appears to be hidden away in a back alley, while the other two are a bit more centrally located. Any thoughts or suggestions?

My big question though is should I book the whole stay (20 nights) straight away, or book 7-10 nights and then look for accommodation for the rest of my stay once I'm there. Am I likely to get a better deal deal that way, or will I just be giving myself unnecessary trouble?

Cheers

I dont know the particular hotels you mention but regarding your big question about booking 20 nights at a single place or just booking 7 nights and then deciding whether to move or extend I think I'd take the cautious approach and only book the 7 nights.

Earlier this year I booked a week at Keerati Homestay on LK Metro. Never stayed there previously but good location, rooms ok etc - but downside is that it was really noisy until 3.00 am and I do mean too noisy to sleep (and that was in one of the so called quieter rooms). I was getting back at midnight or 1.00 and so had a real struggle to sleep.  Eventually decided to move to another hotel (Areca Lodge - great place) after 4 nights and ended up losing the 3 nights cost at Keerati.

OK so not a real disaster but being a bit more cautious would have saved some dosh.

If you book 7 nights you dont really lose anything, if you like the place you extend after the first 2 or 3 days. If you dont like the place  then look for someplace else while you are ambling around Pattaya during the days and move after the week is up.  What you dont want to end up with is a situation where you've paid for 20 nights for a place which, for whatever reason, you are not comfortable with.

Good advice and also if you do like it then you could possibly get a discount on booking for the rest of your stay.

Sorry I disagree . Your to far from the action . I suggest Areca . Or pattaya bay resort . A lot cheaper and closer to the action . Do your research on trip adviser . Or try h - boutique hotel or honey inn hotel great clean and very new still close to the action . Can walk everywhere .
