For all motorcycle guys Bira has track days every Monday. Cheap @ 1,200bhat and great fun.

Ride on a technical track in safety.

Oh well. In the good old days it used to be 500B. Still well worth a few laps.

Usually about 10 guys there. Anything from a CBR250 to a Suter Supersport 600. About 50/50 split Thai and Farang but parked in different places.

Go pass the main entrance and look for a U turn then go against the traffic for about 10m into the pit entrance. Farangs will be past the restaurant/store. Thais opposite the store. Follow the arrows, pit traffic is one way. Usually!

You don't pay unless you go on the track, so if unsure you can go for a visit first.

Thanks for the heads up ill have a look when iam over next month, i look for new circuits to ride like some guys look for farm fresh girls :GoldenSmile1: .
Pity i can.t get the S thou on the plane.

Is there anyone who hires trackday bikes and one piece leathers ?, iam doing a few days touring up north before Patts and am just going to pack helmet, gloves, kevlar jeans and motox style lightwhieght armour to be within baggage allowance, what prices would i expect to pay for half desent kit if i should deside to buy in LOS instead ?.

Thanks for any help.

Yo could try HighsideTours. If they still do it? I go round in kevlar jeans etc..but I'm not trying to break any personal records. I just enjoy going around.

Thanks for  the reply, ive tried e-mailing Highside Tours previously but without reply, there appears to be no information on their web site since 2009, at that time they offered a package of bike hire with hospitality for 56000 baht which i think is very reasonable.

This could be a opportunity for one of the busnesses that hire chicken chasers, having one 600cc bike (R6, CBR, ZX6 etc) thats set up for trackdays,it dos'nt even need to be road legal, just take it to Bira in a van.

For a relalively little outlay (2K GBP) iam sure you would get one or two punters per month.

I am sure Highside is still in the renting business as there is a guy at the track every Monday.

As for possible business venture. they always sound good until its your money.

Then you would be subject to the "jet-ski scam' and/or who pays for the repairs and loss of business while they repair the bike dropped by so called punter.

Sent you a PM. Herbert i believe his name is, but I'm not good with names, anyway a German guy is there every Monday working on someone's bike (and t,w,t,f,saturday according to his wife!) I think they have some ER6 track bikes, and maybe a litre bike.

The corner after the IRC bridge going uphill to the zig-zag is blind, so you should be braking as you go under the bridge. At least the first few times.  Or.......  It doesn't look blind as a spectator but trust me it is. The most common place to go off onto the grass/gravel

About 1.04 here and the guy is not really committed, riding like me:-),  so he leaves it a bike later.

Yes that would be Herbert working away in the pits everyday. As far as I know Graham, that's the guy from High side tours, moved all his bikes which are pretty much all Er6's up to a track near Hua Hin. Can't think of the name of the track.

He occasionally runs an event at Bira if he gets enough interest.

I used to be part of that scene but have drifted away and lost touch so I could be wrong about him still having bikes. Herbert would know though just ask him, he's probably still there every day tinkering away.

Thanks for the PM ive sent you a reply, although now iam armed with all this information and especially watching the video iam temped to wear my leathers on the plane to avoid excess baggage fees :GoldenSmile1: .

PS, looking forward to riding the circuit almost as much as the ladies, :LOL2: .

I ride a two-stroke. Just after the Singha bridge is where it usually seizes  :DeadHorse2:

Oh the joys of 2smoke ownership, ive spent many not so happy hours of my youth rebuilding them before i could go out with mates :DeadHorse2: .

Still own a 300 gas gas which i use for green laning, the throttle is like an on off switch, not the ideal bike for the job but good fun.
