Been to Pattaya International Hospital?

I'm considering P.I.H. So, if you've been there, would you share your objective impressions please? I usually go to Bangkok-Pattaya hospital, how do these two compare? If it matters, I'm thinking about dental and a doctor consultation.

Thanks

I used their dental department quite frequently and i thought it was very good. Only stopped going because their prices rose a lot.

That's the one I go to, don't know anything about quality of doctors but I had no issues with service.

I went several times, for skin condition, knee pain, and blood test.

I like PIH because it seems a little less crowded and more quiet than other hospital.

I almost always go to PIH.. I work here and have insurance.  It is cheaper for me to go to PIH and NOT USE my insurance (They don't accept Burpa or whatever it is) than to go to Bangkok Pattaya using the insurance...

Always had good care there and when I went with a broken collar bone, there were a couple of follow-up visits that the doctor didn't even charge for.

Thanks, guys. Dexter16, BPH has promotions, Healthy Living 2015 is on 1 Nov~ 31 Dec annually. It's all online.

In my opinion, service standards at BPH are not currently what they were.

I had a abcess drained from my arse crack! And the follow up with the doctor and the dressing changed only cost around 300B!

An American with a history of heart problems came to Pattaya for the first time. After a few days he had what he claimed was a minor heart attack  A motor cycle taxi took him to PIH at about 2.00am  and when he arrived he also had a stroke.

He said the attention he got was excellent, better than he got in USA .

Exactly the same for me, I used PIH for 12 years both for Dr appointments and I've also had a broken collar bone op and appendicitis op there both under AIA insurance.

Last year I broke my arm in two places and because I had Bupa I used BPH and it was superb BUT for normal stuff that I have to pay for I prefer PIH, BPH is very expensive.

From a canadian point of view in comparison to our healthcare, the doctors in PIH seems less educated and professionnel. I wasn't trusting their decisions at all. When I got back to Canada, doctors told me I received the wrong treatment. Oh well.

I may go here for a complete check up with lab tests during my next trip. Are the results written only in Thai?

I just changed to a new dentist after going to PIH for dental the last ten years. It was because they have gotten more expensive over the years.

I am currently getting a root canal at Pattaya Smile on South Pattaya Rd (9000 Baht flat rate) and will get a crown (7,500 - 13,00 dependent on materials).

PIH quoted about double that price.

where to go for liposuction for value and good results?

It's really more about the doctor than the hospital. I've seen hacks at Bumrungrad & an excellent stanford educated doctor at BPH.

I used a dentist at PIH that was very good & had a good emergency room visit as well. Their physical therapy dept is pretty good.

Can you let me (us) know, how it went?

I need to get a crown myself, at home it will cost me around 23.000 baht. But if I can get it 10.000 baht cheaper with good quality and get a trip out of it, it would be better.

I've been using PIH for 20 years. However, it's now getting expensive and not as good as it should be. I took some friends to their dental dept. a couple of weeks ago to have their teeth checked while they were on holiday here, and I had mine checked at the same time. All the dentists listed on the glass doors from previous visits had gone and they only had one elderly dentist on duty. He was very brusque and also tried to "up-sell" to us, advising treatment that wasn't necessary. 1,400 baht for check up, clean, and polish! Not again, I'm afraid. Also had an appointment in the dermatology clinic a couple of months ago. I had a small spot on my shoulder which had been there for about 6 months. Doctor wanted to do a biopsy. I agreed until the reception nurse pointed a calculator at me which said 9,200 baht.  I declined and was charged 1,400 baht for the consultation. I asked for the customer service rep. but he could do nothing about the price. Three weeks later the spot vanished on it's own. Sorry, PIH, I'll not be seeing you again. On the few occasions I've been to BPH I've found them very good and their prices seem to have "cooled down" a bit more recently, perhaps from mega criticism on forums such as this. Pity it's not as convenient as PIH for someone who has to use a baht bus.

BPH if you can afford it, more expensive but way way better.  If you cannont afford it, the International will be okay.   I went twice to check it out, no complaints but no where near BPH in every way

I'd second BPH every time over Pattaya Inter.

Went to Pattaya Memorial Hospital just at corner of Pattaya Klang and Soi Buakhao with a broken elbow. Great hospital that put the Irish Hospital to shame . Very quick attention ( 10 mins) compared to. Waterford Hospital (my local in Ireland) 5-7 hours wait . I also likes Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital , would use this if very serious such as an heart attacks .

No experience at Pattaya International Hospital.
