Wanted to hear from the weight lifters who been to Pattaya recently or are there now on which gym they like the best and why. I mostly use free weights and some machines. Please include location, prices, and a link if they have a site.

I have trained here and Tony's soi buakhao.

This is a far better gym. More space and better machines.

Tony's soi buakhao, area with free weights is small.

Anyone do Fairtex?

used to when in the area, small, good to okay equip, a/c, enough for what i wanted, get a steam and a swim included i think??? bit pricey

probably not enough for the hardcore builders.

plenty going on, Muay Thai training, squash, tennis, badminton, spinning, yoga/dance fit, rockwall, pool, sauna, steam, all there

been awhile since i've been so you'd need to take a look yourself

It's walking distance from Soi 8. From Soi 8,cross to the east side of Second Rd.and walk north until you reach a bar complex. Walking east through the bar complex will lead to Soi Bukhao. Once at Soi Bukhao turn left. Tony's is between a 7/11 and Siam Commercial Bank..

Fairtex is 300 baht. IMHO Tony's on Soi Bukhao is better at 90 baht.

The beach is always to the west...

Assuming they are talking about this Tony's:

The following map starts on Soi 8 on the left and goes to Tony's on Soi Buakhao. I think there is a smaller open air Tony's farther down Soi Buakhao?

Is there a monthly rate?

Don't need a compass to know the difference between East (towards Soi Bukhao) and West (towards Beach Rd) and North (towards Soi 6)  and South (towards Walking St) in Pattaya. Even I know these, and I have a terrible sense of direction.

Agreed. Tony's isn't too bad for 90 Baht. They have added some of new machines and benches over the past week or two.

The one upstairs at Baukhao I'm meaning.

There is also a tony's in naklua, right up near to the weekend market. Its on the baht bus route.

looks pretty good from the outside. mainly locals, so i bet its cheap. Its outdoor based with fans.

If he walked north on 2nd Road and went through the bar complex on my map he would need to turn right at Soi Buakhao.

And Tony's actually has better equipment for 90 than Fairtex for 300. For example, Tony's has an isolateral decline machine while Fairtex doesn't.

You may be right on that one. I would go there directly on Soi Bukhao, never actually having to go through the bar complex. At any rate, it's a short walk once you go through the complex.
