Is it a 6 month holiday visa you're after?

If so I'll pm you this evening, I done it myself this time last year.

Pattaya is like enjoying yourself -it's not for everyone.

I have done it..but I used thai visa express. they will asses your case for free before you waste your time. I know  a few people who have done it and I would say about 50% got them mainly because they didn't supply the correct info etc. and couldn't  prove there income etc.

But there is a different approach and requirements  for different Visa which one are you going for ?

I have got a visa for a thai girlfriend and a filipina girlfriend. I did it myself. You need to show that you have a relationship and that she has a reason to go home.

So 3 months I presume would be a tourist visa.. This is just my experience and therefore cannot guarantee providing the information will get you a visa.

Bit of history

We met in June 2013 via internet

We had a holiday 3 times together with our children

2 x in Thailand  1x skiing in turkey

Thai do not require visa for Turkey and is close to UK so reason for vacation there.

SO all in all we had meet 3 times. After the second time I started t help support her. She made flower arrangements for her family business with the money I was sending she could just help in the family business full time instead of having to supplement the income other ways

This is the information I supplied and will try and categorise it for you

Reason for Visit

we had visited Thaialnd and turkey, a holiday in the UK seemed the next logical step and it was for the easter/songran holidays when both thai and UK have school holidays.

Reason to return

As she had no assets or corporate Job we had very little here but her daughter was visiting as well so we got a letter from the school saying when her daughter had to be back. Also we had travelled abroad and she had returned.

Relationship proof.

Proof we met online.

We had photos of all the times we had met and holidays.

Receipts for holidays, airline tickets , holiday insurance  with as many with her name on as well. The last 2 holidays I ensured her name was hotel invoice etc. as well as mine.

Screen shots of all Viber, text , phone calls & emails. Viber we had text nearly everyday

Photocopy of Passports showing visa stamps

My divorce papers as I had previously been married to a thai girl and she had got a settlement visa 14 years previous

My paperwork

Copy fo passport

Copies of my  work contracts

Payslips

3 months of Bank statements  to prove I had enough income and money to support her. I was quite a few grand OD at the time but had twice that available to me on my OD

Land registry details which describes the house and who owns it ( £3 off internet)

Utility Bill

Mortgage statement

Description of my house with photo's showing room to accommodate

Divorce papers and my daughter custody papers which I had custody to show she is my responsibility

Her Paperwork

Copy of passport and daughters

Bank statement or copy of passbook

Copy of money transfer from me

pictures of her making flowers ( yes she was the annoying girl at the traffic light selling Buddha flowers)

Copy of ID's of family living in her house for her it was Mother  and Sister

Finally a covering letter explaining

1. how we had met

2.details of time we had spent together detailing each holiday dates where we stayed reference your receipts etc

3. what she did for a living, single  divorced, who she lives with

4. List how you stay in contact when apart ref telephone records , text , viber,   line skype, email  etc etc

5. Explain your current employment status and income. ref bank statement payslips and savings

6. where you live,  do you own the house,  how long you lived there, who you live with ref docs deeds,  rental agreements etc.

7. how you support your partner if this is the case or does she support herself ref her bank statements bank transfer from you or her income letter from employer

8. summarise that you have adequate funds to support a trip of this length(maybe use a clear financial statement of your income and outgoings)  , the reason for the visit at his time and that you have shown you can accommodate.

9. summarise the reasons your partner will return.

10. list your contact details as the sponsor if more information is required

this is generally what was in the letter visa express wrote for me

A tourist visa no longer needs an interview  an appointment is set up via the internet, there is some form filling here then your partner will have to go and submit the paperwork in bangkok.

I am in very fortunate financial position where by I paid thai visa express to do mine, save the headache and time as me trying to do it,  I can earn more in that time doing  what I do best and let them do what they do best. Also they have a UK back account to pay the money.. and are registered in the UK ..and was not sure how I applied for the daughter visa which did confuse me some what as the appointment system you can only do one person at a time.

Other visa advisors mentioned here I had tried to use them previously and had a shite service mainly I think as I was not in thailand and there email communication was crap. eventualy got my money back and went to thai visa express who where really on the ball.

But I am sure this can be done yourself if you have the time and patience.. easier I would imagine if you are in Thailand with all the correct paperwork save trying to send it all to her. maybe structure it in a good folder with tabs I am sure will help using your covering letter maybe  the index if you like . make it look profession and well laid out, make immigration officers job easier to find the documentation etc that you reference in your letter.  BUT DO NOT LAMIMNATE ANYTHING as I heard one person had done.

The government website can be quite frustrating and I did read a lot on here that would have helped.

in theory I think you have to prove she is a responsible individual person, you have a solid relationship with a future and her failure to return would jeopardise any future you have together.

Please remember this is my experience what I did and some suggestions.

Hope this helps and not confused you  more...if you need anymore help  just PM me or ask here if you feel it will help generally

Good luck TTT

Hi Rik  have a look here for info http://www.thaivisa-express.com/key-english-test-ket/  if she did not have a clue i suspect she has not studied for it. Like any test you have to study and do dry runs. there are You tube VDO's out there showing the type of questions you will be asked and the format.

Another option for a short time solution  maybe UK Family Visit Visa..if they are already married.  which does not require the test from what I have read and give her chance to get her language skill up to scratch in this country and she can also do the test here. then return and do the setllement visa.. just a thought

by the way It is customary to start a new thread if you need information, but seen as you are new sure carsmike will not mind you hijacking on this occasion  :GoldenSmile1:

Might not be of use, but my wife and my friends girlfriends all took the English test in England while on holiday visas, here it is only speaking listening, it's a 6 min test, and a lot easier and cheaper then thailand
