If he was dishonest he just would have said it was not left in his taxi and that would have been the end of it, after all every Thai person is out to rip off farangs!! There are plenty of cases like this including a number of baht bus drivers in Pattaya returning stuff. I suspect they are no less or more dishonest that in our countries.
