Varicose veins

I've noticed that I'm starting to have varicose veins on my left leg. There's a big nasty vein popping out on top of my knee.

I stand a lot on my job so might have something to do with it.

Anyone else have these things.

I have One of those on my legs since many years, My doctor has advised me reduce weight and asked me to go for surgery in future if the pain increases. I used to wear compression stockings, but removed it after couple of weeks due to discomfort. Started wearing loose clothes especially near waist and groin area.

Prop up your legs (Elevate): When you elevate your legs, ideally at or above heart level, it helps keep the blood from pooling in your lower legs and improves blood flow to the rest of your body.

Started walking for 30-45 minutes every day. Recently, When I boom-boom on doggie style for couple of mintues, it used to strain on my legs due to these veins issue.

I have them but very mild, they just look like bumps on my legs, just to the side of my lower legs outside of my shins. I'd no idea what they were until my mother spotted them and told me that my grandmother used to suffered bad from them so there you go it's most likely hereditary. No pain or anything like that, the only issue I had was that sometimes my legs would get real itchy and for a while there it looked like I had exezema or some other skin condition like it, but that's all cleared up now, when I'm up and about they are invisible and it's only when I sit down that they bulge out. Went to the doctor, I run regurally and she said that keeping that up will keep them from growing, but she told me that if they start causing me discomfort then to call back and we'd talk about getting them removed.

I read elsewhere that propping up helps as well as compression type socks, so I will have to invest in some socks. It can't be too tight as I can't keep them on for long.

I used to run a lot but not anymore so that might be why it's starting to creep up on my legs. Another unwanted thing from age.
