Nam's Taxi Service

Just booked with Nam for Jan 5th, replied promptly to email, good customer service so far.

Have asked if she can supply a phone sim card also, will see what happens.

Not long now.

That's not a bad idea.

Maybe she might like to buy a job lot of SIM cards and can sell at a small profit to her customers. I would certainly buy one from her on arrival.

Just one of those time savers that you don't mind paying a little over the odds for.

No need to keep stock of SIM cards. Just have her ask if the customer will need one upon arrival, and then pick one up at 7/11 or wherever before pickup. I would think that many customers would appreciate that service and take advantage of it, and she can charge an extra 100 or 200 baht for the SIM card and initial setup and top up.

 

(cue cheap charlies complaining how 'exorbitant' 200 baht is 'for something I can do myself')

That is a good idea, she is looking for ideas to make her service different and better then the rest.

she is picking me up january 7th....she even got some one else to share...cost to me 700...thats a bonus...

If you want her to supply a sim card, make sure you give an indication of what type, iPhone uses a smaller sim then for instance Samsung. And tell her how much credit you want on it. initially 100 bt maybe enough.....

Just her, so if you book her you get her.  She is at the airport as we speak so thank you to the members who are booking her...  There are better shot in my TR but I like this one...

Great Idea, I know the first time I used her service she had some cold drinks for me. Thought that was nice of her.

I just happen to know that these past couple of days she has been flat out, running up to Christmas it is busy, only time to sleep and to drive....

Sent her a mail a couple of days ago about a Bangkok city to Pattaya return trip but nothing back yet?

I just asked her, she checked her email list, no unanswered email.

I said BKK to patss Sat, back Sun, no trace. Sorry, it will probably be too late now.

This taxi service aint rocket science :Think1: Here we have a thread praising a taxi service that is costlier than onother thread where, Meow is reliable and CHEAPER.

Emailed her yesterday..she replied within 2 hours..1,000 baht Bkk airport-Pattaya.

Get a fooking grip.

Every service will occasionally have a glitch.

 

Yesterday, she started driving at 12.00 on a Don Muang return trip that should have taken no more then five hours, but a flight delay plus horrendous traffic jams turned it into a 8 hour trip. The next one followed immediately, leaving her half an hour after that for a quick bite, followed by a late night Suvarnabhumi return trip, which saw her get home at about 1.00 PM, a thirteen hour day at work.

 

Three days earlier, a trip taking a customer return to a BKK hospital, supposed to take five hours, took eight, giving her another total working day of thirteen hours. I believe what she did today is realise that she has to build in more margin in her bookings, to take into account such unexpected delays.

 

This service has started up less then a month ago, most actual passengers have been very happy with it so far.

 

While I am regretting the inconvenience to the BM who as a consquence had his booking cancelled, I am glad that she saw sense, and decided to keep safe, rather then putting our lives and hers at risk by driving too many hours.

 

Thai traffic statistics are about the worst in the world, and I believe tiredness, long driving hours, and stimulants used to keep the driver awake contribute to this.

 

This driver does not drink coffee, and when I jokingly suggested that she could buy a few M50 powerdrinks, she almost bit my head off.

I have booked with Tann, no harm done. Rather she is safe and does not drive when too tired.

It was a bit annoying to get knocked back after the booking was accepted, but I can see her side of it.

That is why they should restrict the number of bookings per day. Something she will learn in time. (maybe did already)

My booking was very late, arrival was 23:45 so yes it is probably a learning curve. She has to sleep sometime and to take a late booking

Too late - I've had a reply from another - maybe she is overstretched with all the publicity?

Nam is aware of the issue of canceling her booking and it will not happen again, she is starting a new system to maintain her bookings and also will bring a lady friend with her on 1 person pick ups late at night so you will have two cute Thai girls to talk to on your trip back...
