Deciding on Aloft or On8

Haven't stayed at either of these but and deciding on these 2. 

 

Aloft looks nice and hip and on Soi 11 / On8 on Soi 8 looks good and easy to get on BTS system. 

 

Any opinions are welcomed. They are not far off the same price.

 

I am travelling with a mate for 3 nights after 14 in Pattaya. We tend to hit the clubs for FL's more than Nana/Soi Cowboy.

I stayed at Aloft 1½ years ago. The hotel was pretty good, and located a bit down on Sukhumwit Soi 11, but they have their own Levels night club, right there, and from what I remember they have free bar every Saturday, for 500 baht, I enjoyed quite a few Mojitos there, I also had big plans for my 1 night in Bangkok, but I never made it further than Levels nightclub.

HI  Stayed at On8 last year rooms very nice and quite modern but the one I had had no windows and quite small in size

 

Its ok for a short stay, close to Nana and a short walk down to Cowboy  girl friendly but they  ask for their Id

Breakfast is very ordinary

I've been using Aloft as my go to hotel the last couple of years. I really like it although it's getting a bit expendsive now.

 

I like the Soi 11 location, plenty of restaurants and bars on the Soi. I've brought a few of my barfines back and took them to Levels and they all seemed to enjoy it.

Is levels. Club in the Aloft ? Do they have FL working from there ?

Yes, levels is in Aloft. Checked it out during my last trip several months ago. This was the night i drank through 6 clubs. I Did one club an hour till sunrise, my time there was cut short because i didn't know when their closing time was. Everyone shunts over to wax after they close.  Didn't really care much for the crowd, everyone seemed a bit uptight but there were tons of pretty girls in there.  I Did get approached by 2 fls so i'm assuming there are some in there but most of the women didn't seem to be there for work. The two were stunners but seemed to have the same "to cool for school' attitude the rest of the crowd had.  The whole "we turned down a million guys in here, so you should be grateful we approached you" attitude doesn't fly well with me.  So i had to check them and moved on. For what its worth, my two cents: it could have been an off night but If your looking for a place to drink, vibe out and check out pretty girls, it's cool.  If your looking for fls, they are in there; a bit low key, but there are much better places to spend your time if that's your goal.

These 2 hotels aren't alike in any way. If you want a pool, gym, and in-house dining & drinking options - go with Aloft. If not save your $$ and do On8. The Aloft is still a good deal F-S at 3000 Starpoints.
