I booked VT6 for my 2nd trip next week ..

 

I didn't book a WS view. The room is the other side. Are all views blocked by the Hilton ? It's 23 floor

 

When I booked it on DW and they showed room view the Hilton wasnt complete. So not sure if they're hiding it

 

Thoughts ?

Totally blocked?  No.  Partially yes, but you may also have a view of the upper beach road area as well since you're on a higher level.  Have a nice trip :)

It is a lot cooler on that side.

 

You might get a little noise from band next to Made in Thailand beer bar complex,depending where on the 23rd floor you are.

 

View should be good,blocked some view of the Beach,but good views looking down to Naklua & Wong Amat Beach.

I was recently in 23-901 with the view to the North. View is pretty much the same as BigG's photo.  You are higher than Central Festival but not as high as the Hilton so view partially blocked.  Didnt hear any noise from Made in Thailand unless I was propped up at the Matador Bar.

Depends where you are along the VT6, because the Hilton is large and far higher than VT6

and it can block what was the nicest part of old VT6 North view ...

OP is asking for a view from VT6 now that the Hilton is there.

You can't see that today from most VT6 rooms... no more

(or just maybe from the extreme East point on the roof :wink:)

Considering this is one of the few decent places you can stay at a reasonable price that have views, a bit of the Hilton sticking into your line of sight is not all that bad.

From this pic you are about at 1/3 of VT6 on 2nd Rd Side.

The more your room is towards the sea, the worse the Hilton impact is.

About half (sea/West side) of VT6 North upper floors have zero sea view on the right of the Hilton.

I agree that any rooms close to the Beach Road end of the building will have obstructed views.  

 

I've stayed in a couple of different DW rooms on the Naklua side, both had views as pictured above.  The OP should be able to figure out where he will be in the building and work out whether he's looking straight at the side of the Hilton.  Frankly I doubt it, as those were originally the prime sea-view rooms and less likely to have been purchased as rentals.

 

If in doubt, all the OP has to do is ask Tik.  DW is a very customer orientated firm and will not lead him astray.

I stayed on naklua side on my last visit.

Room was nice but I like to sit out on my balcony at times.

The Noise from central festival fans on the roof was annoying.

I also stayed on Walking Street side for a few days, and it was better

No not joking,there is a viewing platform on every level when you exit lifts to your left,that is where the photos are from.  :Think1:

Yep this picture's from the 19th floor so it all depends on where the room is, I have been fortunate enough to always book through Honey and request WS side rooms....

I think the penthouse suites are about 11 million and up, I know the studio's start from about 3-3.5 million, I was investigating prices back in June but not for penthouse's.

Magik, you can rent sharkys old place for around 6000 a night, check his link on his facebook.

Personaly im making the most of vt6 sea side now while there is still a view

And still nobody seems to know, on either thread, when construction will start! Does anyone have an idea at all? I'm just in the process of booking so this information would be greatly apreciated by myself and others i'm sure.
