Classroom Hotel and Bar

There was a discussion about Classroom and I said I would post when I got here about it.

So here is my honest opinion.

Note : Im in the bigger room on the top floor.

No pictures needed as there are many on the site.

If anything, as in most cases, the actual room is better than the pictures.

Check in is completed next door to the bar. Its like a little sports bar.

Entry is on a side door which has movement sensor lights that open up when you begin your journey to your room.

Plenty of people to direct you to the right place.

The accountant expects you to have the cash up front, but its no big drama if you don't, as most won't have.

I took my bags to my room, showered, changed and walked around the corner to TT and got the required amount.

There is also a CC bank across the road from the hotel.

The usual 4 pin code safe and plenty of hanging space for your clothes.

The room itself is huge with a cook top, table and chairs, coffee and tea making, ref, dual air cons and fans, kings size bed, couch and balcony, large flat screen and dvd player.

High pressure water in the shower which there is a spray type set up as well as water fountain.

There are drinks and snacks all priced well, unlike some other places.

If you want to buy your own there is a family mart on one corner and 7/11 on the other.

The room is on Second Road, but you cannot hear much traffic noise.

Only the loud speakers and high volume exhausts.

Outside that, very quiet and lots of double backed curtains to keep the light out.

Starting discount in the bar is 10% and always offered when you come in.

The only down side, as another poster mentioned, are the stairs.

4 floors of them if your at the top.

For some, that might be a turning point, but for me, its been ok.

There is no doubt the hotel would gain in popularity if it had an elevator.

One big plus on the side of management here..

The cashier over charged me 1600bt and due to myself buggering up my dates and the knowledge of my total, I just quickly calculated in my head and thought..yep that's pretty close.

John tracked me down next day and gave me the money back.

5 stars in my opinion.

So that's my thoughts.

If you haven't visited the bar, then your missing out if you like quiet rock and roll in a friendly atmosphere.

Really enjoying my stay.

Just one more thing to add to The Classroom hotels management style.

My friend (who had been there 1 night only) and I had prepaid our accommodation to receive the discount.

He arrived on the 27th and on the morning of the 28th we got a phone call that our mine had been closed with the lose of 268 jobs.

Interviews for the last few scraps at sister mines were to be held on Fri, Mon and Tues.

We had to get home  fast.

I told the day time manager and went and seen John in the office.

He gave our money back for unused nights.

We said its not your fault, we do not expect a refund.

He insisted it was ok and said we can have the rooms for late check out as well.

To say we were grateful is an understatement.

They went way and beyond the level I expected and hopefully one day in the future I will be able to repay the 5 star treatment my friend and I received.
