Thanks to BM Mendobrew for alerting me to this topic about the hotel I reserved, LK Renaissance.  There is a thread in the advanced section but as a standard member I can't access it.  If they are offering a move to LK Metropole, take it.  I have asked for that, and they are presently only offering a move up to the 70th floor (are there 70 floors???), they say construction stops at 36th floor...  Another review I read said construction sometimes continues overnight, but guaranteed starts at 8:00 am, just can't find that one now.  Here is a review from Trip Advisor that doesn't paint a pretty picture:

Do Not Stay at this hotel, Construction site at rear of hotel which is very noisy”

I would strongly suggest that you stay away from this hotel for the next three years as there is a huge multi-story construction site to the rear of hotel in which the noise starts at around 7.00am and continues on until 10.00pm at night. Arriving at the hotel at around 4.00pm after 18-20 hours in transit all I wanted was a quiet room for a sleep, impossible, the noise from the construction site is horrendous with jackhammers, trucks hooting, and general banging around etc 7 days a week. With approx 75% of the hotel rooms facing on to the construction site, all will suffer from noise pollution. The hotels front rooms face on to the street with the gogo bars across the street with loud music blasting out from early evening to early morning. Good luck in trying to a quiet room at this hotel. My room was just adequate and clean, but hot water was non-existent and at its best was slightly warm after running the hot tap for more than 10-15mins, the comment from the front desk was just let run it will get hotter, yea right. hotel has no bar and the restaurant closes at around 3.00pm, so no evening dining. hotel is in a good location with a short 5-7min walk to the beach. Staff pleasant, breakfast is on a menu basis and not very good. Overall I would rate it three out of ten. Wifi free when working. hotel needs a complete upgrade.

Room Tip: No quiet rooms at this hotel, stay away for the next three years
