In America there are motorcycle safety courses available. I need to learn the correct way to ride a motorbike and be more confident. Is there a similar course in Bangkok. Pattaya or Chiang Mai?

If you are still in the US I would recommend that you did one there. There would be no language barrier and it would almost certainly be of a higher quality. Also get experience in the US so that you are more comfortable. Thailand is not the place to learn how to ride a motorbike as he traffic is very unforgiving.
