Under $1000 Chicago to Bangkok

I have seen sub $1K fared from ORD for awhile. Cathay now has a great fare for Aug-September at $960. Great fare for a top airline. Also more width than most at 18.5". Also only $100 change fee.

Also Emirates start service at about $1150

That's super cheap! Cathy Pacific is one of the better airlines.

cathay has added a new flight leaving Chicago around 1:15am,via HK arriving BKK around 10:30am...much better than the old(still remaining)itinerary leaving Chicago around 3:00pm with the midnight (BKK) arrival and the fucked up 14 hour layover in HK on the return flight. I flew cathay last AUG...$2000.00 RT. This AUG, half that...also got room at BKK Landmark hotel for last 2 nights for next to nothing. Wonder if the "situation" in Thailand has anything to do with these reduced prices?
