Well, what do you expect?

Israel uses a missile defence system to protect it's citizens, Hamas uses it's citizens to protect it's missiles.

Hamas 'Fighters' surround themselves with Civilians in Gaza. Those Civilians support Hamas. That makes them the same as Hamas.

The IRA often used the same tactic in Northern Ireland to shoot at British Soldiers from behind women and children.

I have no sympathy for the likes of Hamas who use those tactics with complete disregard for their own people's lives and safety. They know that world opinion is an 'Achilles Heel' and a major weakness of their enemy.Turning world opinion against Israel is Hamas's most effective strategyand Israel cannot let them continue to keep firing their Rockets without reply However, If and when Israel's very existance is threatened then Gaza might well cease to exist. Hamas is more than willing to sacrifice Gaza and everyone in it in the hope it results in a total Arab onslaught against Israel.

That's been tried by many Arab nations before and the Arabs lost - Everytime.

If any Arab nation ever defeated and over ran Israel in a future war then Israel would cease to exist c/w the wholesale slaughter of it's people living there. What would world opinion make of that then and do you think any Muslim would give a flying fuck about what the world would think or say about it anyway.

There is no winners in this ongoing conflict. The only solution is through peace, when will those silly fuckers see that and stop killing each other.

One side perpetrates. All the killing will end when that side stops. One side reacts to attacks and responds to defend its citizens. One side has the destruction of the other in its charter and refuses to acknowledge the other's right to even exist.

Faanatical Arab factions such as Hamas,Hizbollah, etc will never stop fighting until the state of Israel is completely destroyed. That is their ongoing Goal and why there will never be peace in the region whilst Israel exists.

Israel is not in the business of letting anyone crush them.

Israel have won every war because they have to, otherwise they wouldn't exist.

Team Hebrew can't go 8 to 1, it has to be 8 to nil every time.

They always win, because they believe in science and education. The Jews have won 155 Nobel Prizes, Moslems have won 2.

Dude

WTF? Check your figures.

If that was the case, with 150 rockets per day in the last week, Israel would be reeling.

What really sucks about this is that the ordinary Folks are once again caught in the cross fire.

And Israel refuses to acknowledge the existence of a Palestinian State they still often refer to  as Judea and Samaria and believe it was part of the land given to them by God 3000 years ago.

Palestine  has been under occupation for 47 years and covered with illegal Israeli settlements which are still being expanded and Israeli checkpoints.prevent any sort of normal life for the Palestinians. The OCCUPATION is the source of the conflict and sucessive Israeli governments have made it clear by their actions that "there were never be a Palestinian State". John Kerrys latest attempt was doomed to failure. Whatever you may think about Hamas, they are not prepared to live forever under Israeli Occupation without puting up a resistance, however futile. Israel claim Hamas have fired over 2000 rockets into Israel: the result 3 civilians killed.

Nick Clegg  on Israeli Settlements. Jan 2012.

The UK's Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, condemned Israeli settlements in Palestine as "an act of deliberate vandalism to the basic premise upon which negotiations have taken place for years".

An internal EU report leaked last week was very critical of Israel's policies and planning rules in "Area C", the 62% of the West Bank which it fully controls.

A French parliamentary report also described Israel's water policies in the occupied Palestinian territories as a form of "apartheid", because they give preferential treatment to illegal Jewish settlers. The comments were welcomed by the head of the Palestinian Water Authority.

"The continued existence of illegal settlements risks making facts on the ground such that a two-state solution becomes unviable," Clegg said.

He went on: "Once you've placed physical facts on the ground that make it impossible to deliver something that everyone has for years agreed is the ultimate destination then you do immense damage, it is an act of deliberate vandalism by Israel to the basic premise on which negotiations have taken place for years and years and years."

Benjamin Netanyahu caught saying what he really thinks

A  revealed tape of Netanyahu in 2001, being interviewed while he thinks the cameras are off, shows him his true light.

In it, Netanyahu dismisses American foreign policy as easy to maneuver, boasts of having derailed the Oslo accords with political trickery, and suggests that the only way to deal with the Palestinians is to “beat them up, not once but repeatedly, beat them up so it hurts so badly, until it’s unbearable”

Speaking to students at Bar Ilan University,( from the Israeli journal Hotam, November 24, 1989.)

"Israel should have exploited the repression of the demonstrations in China, when world attention focused on that country, to carry out mass expulsions among the Arabs of the territories."

Death toll now over 1000.

US wants Ceasefire

WASHINGTON — After failing to win a deal to end fighting in Gaza last week, Secretary of State John Kerry is trying to salvage Plan B: a succession of temporary cease-fires that he hopes might yet open the door to Israeli and Palestinian negotiations for a long-term solution.

On Sunday, however, Mr. Kerry was having difficulty accomplishing even that, despite a phone call in which President Obama, in a sign of mounting impatience, urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel to embrace an “immediate, unconditional humanitarian cease-fire” while the two sides pursued a more lasting agreement.

Part of the reason the diplomatic effort has faced such an uphill struggle is far-reaching changes on both sides since the last Gaza cease-fire in 2012. Israel and Hamas seem to be dug in this time, with Israeli officials appearing dismissive of Mr. Kerry’s push for a weeklong cease-fire in a way that few American secretaries of state have had to face.

Hamas is holding out for a commitment to open major border crossings and ease the embargo after failing to get the benefits it had anticipated after the cease-fire two years ago.

Israel’s settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territory

Israel’s policy of building settlements in occupied territory is one of the core issues in the conflict.

Illegal under international law, settlements are built on confiscated or stolen Palestinian land, are one of the core justifications for the building of the wall and the restriction of Palestinian movement within the West Bank, contribute to forced displacement, severely limit Palestinian access to basic resources including land and water, and perpetuate a system of segregation and legal and structural inequality between Palestinians and Israelis.

Understanding Israel’s settlement policy and its impacts is important to understanding what continues to drive the conflict.

Israel has (according to Israel ) the best intelligence organisation, Mossad and the best trained special forces, army in the world. The Israeli missile defence shield is doing a great job, bugger all humus missiles getting into tel aviv. The Israeli defences are holding, best in the world, Mossad know where the enemy are and their army could easily extract, eliminate them with little to no civilian casualties. But they choose not to. Isreal would rather level an entire apartment building with air and artillery strikes, killing indiscriminately including children. Genocide, pure and simple. Yet Israel claims to be the victim.

Well hidden Genocide,,,,

So Isrealis can do what ever they want but the Palestinians can not do anything to defend themselves. I am really sick of these lame excuses and justifications why isreal can do all this and not be accountable.

I am really sick of this excuse that Hamas is using its citizens as human shields, maybe it is because they have crammed all the Palestinians into Gaza strip after they have illegally stolen their land and there is practically no space to fire back except from their own back yards, but that is too much for some of you guys to think because they are only Arabs that are getting slaughtered.

Also what about all the wars in the past when there was no Hamas, they made up reasons to blame the Palestinians. The same thing always happens, they smashed and kill the Palestine women and children and nobody says or does anything about it. Its very sad indeed.

They just want to wipe the Palestinians out of existence but that is okay and no one says or calls the isrealis terrorist because they are not Arab or Muslim.

If you look back in history the Arabs where the ones who took them in after Hitler gassed them.... (well England placed them there) after being persecuted by the europeans and they repay them like this.

No matter what the BBC or other media outlets that have only isreal interest say to justify them attacking or blame the other side, the people of the world will wake up and see what animals the isreal leaders are

Dude, its "Israel".

And they weren't welcomed by the Arabs, and certainly not resettled there by England - it opposed patriation of Jews to Palestine after the war. The Jews established their country by driving the British out.

Are the Hamas leaders who multi million dollar condos in Qatar ordering rocket assaults against Israel any better than the Israelis?

Aren't these the people who came out in their thousands and were singing and dancing on the streets in celebration when the twin towers came down? Were it not for that apalling act of inhumanity I might have some sympathy for them.

Arafat had a "two state" deal brokered by Clinton in 2000 and he walked away from it. Now the Islamists hardliners are in charge, at least in Gaza. There will be no peace, no two state solution. Settlements will continue to spread and it's what we have now - a hostile peace that periodically turns deadly - right out to the horizon.

Ok guys, just checking in. Nothing wrong with bit of political discussion as long as everyone can keep it civil, which so far apart from 1 exception, everyone has. Obviously this subject has the potential to get a bit heated and emotional. If that is you then please don't post.

Carry on....nicely :)
