Glasshouse Restaurant (short drive out of town along Sukhumvit after Jomtien, beachside).

Had Thai meals here before which were very good, but not impressed by their falang food. You pretty much pay for the location here, but shame they couldn't throw in a halfway decent steak as well. Caesar's salad as a starter, which was nothing special. The steak was already hovering in the background when I was barely into the salad. Hardly a surprise when it turned up lukewarm when I was ready for it.

But what could have been a perfectly good Australian sirloin had been given the Thai steak defrost treatment. Bung it in water. So it was bloodless, and mostly tasteless too, by the time they'd done my rare steak.

So for the money (1150 bht) I got a Caesar's salad, an anaemic steak with a side salad, an apple juice and a mango smoothie. At least the kids got to play on the beach. Next time I'll definitely stick to Thai food...

The Thai food is good and definitely better value. But you're right, they could almost have put that salad in a thimble.
