I tip the taxi dude 100 baht from BKK to Patts and vice versa.

If it's me I stop just outside Bangkok grab a beer for me and a couple of cans of Red Bull along with a snack for the driver and he gets 1500 for the fare. If GF is with me he gets 1000 baht and an ear bashing it should be 800.

I grab one of those thai red bulls just out of bangkok, then when I'm close to pattaya, I grab a large beer for the last 20 mins.

I give 200Baht tip for the hassle for stopping twice.

I'm used to australian taxis which cost around $40AUD to travel only 15 minutes.

usually fare is 1200 to my hotel. if no more than one brief stop, I tip 200.

I usually do 200 baht, giving him/her 1200 baht for the total.

It's an agreed upon prize.... unless they do something other than bringing me safely to or from the airport (stopping at a bank/ 7 11 on my request, waiting for my delayed flight... comes to mind) i don't tip. If they advertize in big letters 1000 baht, then why paying 20% more? But up to you :-)

My taxi is already prepaid with the hotel, but I always give the driver 2 or 3 hundred baht, bcuase I imaging thy don't get that  good a wage anyway.
