SP Boutique (darkside) review

I sort of mistakenly stayed at this place January 2014 after arriving in Patts without reservations. Started looking at Agoda on my iphone when I should've just walked into places, and spur of the moment took the the plunge for four nights sight unseen (I thought I knew the address and thought it to be convenient....in reality, I didn't and it's not. :GoldenSmile1:

Anyway, as for the place itself, it's across Sukhumvit road and very close to a Tesco over there. It seemed to be quite new, or if not, then at any rate it was very clean. All of the other guests seemed to be Russian or Chinese, via tour busses, and all seemed to disappear (check out after one day stop-off perhaps?) in the daytime.

I am pretty sure I paid about 900 baht. Breakfast was included, but poor and very basic with fried eggs cooked enmasse and left out on the buffet table. Other choices seemed to cater more to Chinese tastes (rice, soup, noodles, etc).

There was a pool on the roof that at that time of the year was not being used much. Nice enough I guess.

Friendly staff, but absolutely no English.

No id check for the guests necessary.

As for the area, I walked around a lot and found nothing but very small Thai places where you sit out and have a big bottle of beer. Perhaps there were bars nearby that I missed, but I was completely unfamiliar with the area and found nothing while walking around.

After paying moto-taxi rides if you want to go to the desirable areas, you end up spending a couple hundred baht extra just for that each day.

So, while I expect to be twice a year in Pattaya and was happy to experience a different part of the city, I would defo suggest dont make the mistake I did. It wasnt terrible, but who needs the inconvience of the location.

Sorry I have no pictures, but the many photos on Agoda are very accurate and not at all misleading.
