Maytara Hotel review w/ many pics

Never done a hotel review but here goes anyways. My only requirement for a room is an in-room safe but there's so many other details to every room. These details are what I look for in deciding on a room but sadly the hotel websites rarely list the small things that I look for. So my goal with this review is to give you the small details that may (or may not) help you in deciding if this place (Maytara 2nd road) is for you. This 1st pic will probably eliminate 60% of PA members from staying here 555, First off, this hotel is in a great location on the NW corner of 2nd road and Soi 11. I paid $107 US for three nights (appx 1,100 baht per night). Room has an in room safe, balcony (not a great view as I was on the 2nd floor), mobile shower head and stationary head above, decent size refrigerator that is empty except for the two free bottles of water. I don't like when hotels pre-stock the fridge. I like to hit the supermarket and fill it myself. There is two pools but they are more like lap pools and not very wide. Electric outlets take my US plug-ins. There is no card for the door handle saying to clean room/do not disturb. They use a box attached to the wall and slide the cover to uncover what you want room attendants to see. There's a small hair dryer in closet. The toiletries included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, shower cap and Q-tips. The mattress was one of the best I've slept on. It has a built in pillow top. The floors are wood veneer throughout the room including bathroom/shower. There is a little coffee shop/restaurant in the hotel overlooking 2nd road but I never tried it. 32" flat screen mounted on wall with no wires showing. Free WIFI was good. No free breakfast however. Unsure what the black thing was 9pictured on bed), Found in drawer. Maybe a back scratcher or possibly some kinky toy? Staff was very friendly. View from my room door was overlooking Tipp Shopping. View from balcony had the pool below and looking up and down Soi 11 (not much to see there). Has coffee maker, free shower sandals. There's a wooden slide lock for the bathroom door on the inside and outside. The outside lock may be good if you have a crazy girl in the bathroom 555. There's a bathroom window she could sneak out if she could figure out how to take the screen off. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a mini padlock connecting the room key to the keychain so if you leave the room you cannot keep the A/C running. A/C is very good for the room (43 Sq meters I believe) and cools it quickly. Single key fits both the handle lock and deadbolt. ATM connected to hotel.

Enjoy the pics!

Here's the official website: Maytara Hotel

Please keep in mind that everything I write is based on my own experiences, my personal preferences and my expectations. YMMV!

There's nothing wrong about being cheap ... but being cheap isn't being smart ... never was, never will be ... it's just cheap

Probably be an idea to amend the title of the thread to include the hotel name , would help people who maybe looking for info about it

If it floats, flies or fucks It's probably cheaper to rent ...

You're joking about the black thing, right? It's obviously a musical instrument that goes in the hands of the carved seated figure. The balconies in the hotel I stay at also have poor views. I think they are there just for smokers. I can see you've made good use of it.

It's interesting that they leave the fridge empty. I hate it when they cram it full. I always wonder just how long their stuff has been there. I'd prefer to have plenty of room for my own freshly bought beverages and food.

Thanks for the review, anyway. It's always good to have real photos and not fantasy ones.

Musical instrument? 555. I had no clue. It does make a really good back scratcher though. It's a good place, I will probably stay at again in November. I usually stay at the Whitehouse but this place is a better value.

Ok, so am I the only one who does NOT understand the check-in/check-out sign? Check out at 12AM=MIDNIGHT? Seriously? Or, is that a mis-translation of some sort?

Oh, and a quick question. You didn't mention how they were with brining back "tonight's girlfriend". Joiner fee for more than one girl per day? Do they check ID?

Pussy Prices IMO, Beach Road (Coconut Bar) ST 500 - 800; LT 1000-1500, May be similar in Bamboo and PBG or slightly dearer: Bars and some massage places, bar fine 300-400; ST 800 - 1000; LT 1000-2000, may be cheaper later in the evening: Agogos, bar fine ST 700 - 1000 bar fine  LT 1500 ST 1500-2000, LT 2000-3500: IBar, Insomnia, other Discos, early  expensive getting cheaper as sunrise approaches but 1000-3000 depending: Feel free to PM me with updates

I guess 12 noon :LOL2:

Hi there :Think1:

- 1) Everyone I know would understand 12:00 pm as midday and 12:00 am as midnight

- 2) 12pm cannot exist neither can 12am. Midday is the meridian so it can be neither ante (before) or post (after) :Crazy1:

- 3) Using the 24hr clock, midnight, 24:00 and 00:00 are the same time, either the end of the previous day or the start of the coming day.

I only took one girl back at a time and no joiner fee. Did not ask if there was a charge for a third person however as I didn't need it. Ladies left I.D at desk.

Just back from 9 days in Maytara. I have to say I really enjoyed this hotel and the price was very good.

I booked 7 days with Agoda for €181 and paid the hotel directly 1300 baht x 2 for 2 more nights. I stayed in the 'Deluxe Balcony' in room 405.

I was a little worried about the noise from 2nd road but the AC drowned it out (AC worked very well and wasn't very noisey). The room is a decent size, cleaned daily, decent TV and the bed is very comfortable. You can order room service from the restaurant, pizzas were decent for 220 baht.

The only downer's were the dodgy wifi, and the squeaky bed noises :) You couldn't disguise what was happening in the room hee hee hee.

All in all for the price it's an excellent choice, and one I'll go back to in the future.
