Fuji Japanese Restaurant

Bit too soon for another update to Fuji, but it's where my companion wants to eat! I've tried to interest her in trying other restaurants with sashimi and sushi on the menu, but she really likes Fuji. Location is another big factor. Both of us live in central Pattaya and it only takes a few minutes to get to Fuji.

We were both hungry, so we ordered the big sashimi boat for 530 baht.

She had ordered a small "boat' set as well that included small side dishes of kimchi and mushrooms in addition to miso soup.

My "starter" was yaki gyoza, or pan-fried dumplings.

Back to the big sashimi boat:

A spicy salmon side dish, definitely not traditional Japanese:

My companion's beloved enotake mushrooms:

Bottom line: Another solid meal from Fuji. The fish was "taste-the-sea" fresh and impressively presented. I think part of the reason my companion likes Fuji so much is that it's consistent. The diner knows what he or she will get and is never disappointed.
The total cost including drinks was 1300 baht.

Hey evil I'm wondering if you've tried tsunami on third rd. In central pattaya? I don't think I've seen one of your excellent reviews on them but I've eaten there a few times now and for the 450 baht I myself think it's easily as good as fuji and eating what you want off the menu for a set time is huge value for baht.. anyway I enjoy your pictures and reviews when you post.. thanks mate

I tried to interest my companion in eating at Tsunami, but she insisted on Fuji. She thought it was too hot to go all the way to Third Road to eat, plus she is skeptical of new restaurants. But I'll put my foot down next time and we'll try Tsunami  or I'll go alone.

I will check it out. While Fuji has good food, great ambience and presentation, it is certainly overpriced for Patts. I paid about 1200 for two and it wasn't exactly filling.

I don't think you'll be sorry you tried this place hioctane.. everything is included in the price from hot or cold tea to finishing with sherbet or ice cream.. but the star of the show is the fresh fish forsure. Also salads and hot dishes made to order as you dine.. it's a nice setup where you just keep ordering off the menu as you go along instead of a typical buffet where it's all out and your getting it off trays.. this place is a real nice addition to Pattaya imo.. you do pay extra for beer and I'm not sure about water as I always drink the tea with refills mind you.. looking forward to hearing what you think... you in town now?

I think it's been open since about October but it's on 3rd abit down from bliss same side.. small place and you can take a peak on Facebook but like I said you won't be disappointed.. like this guy from new York I meet in there last week said , if the place was in LA or new York it would have a line to Bangkok waiting to get in..
