I sm sure would all like everyone to play like Brazil but is pretty football always destined to play 2nd fiddle in Europe.

 

If Italy beat Spain tonight then all 3 of the flair sides will have been dumped at the Q8 stage.

 

Maybe its just a fact that the more pragmatic sides always fare better in short tournament situations??

 

There was an interview with John Motson after Germany lost to Croatia and he said they would still won the competition because they have "enough" flair but more importantly have the mind set to win!

Sadly it does seem to be the case in recent times, witness Arsenal's skillful style of play and the way we were kicked out of many games incurring injuries to key players throughout the season by the lesser skilled teams. I concede though that Man U played attractive football and deserved to win the Champions League and Premiership, but they do have a steely core to them and can 'play dirty' with the best of 'em, unlike Arsenal who seem to rely more on skill since Paddy Vieira 'got his coat'. I just hope that The Spanish win tonight and carry the flag of total football. The Dutch are gonna be missed for sure, but even after the demolition of the Italians by the Dutch I said that it would be between the Italians and Germans as to who would win the competition. My heart so wanted the Dutch to prove my head wrong..Oh well

my tips for euro 2008 b4 the tournament started were holland, portugal, croatia and spain, i was starting to get a bit cocky thinking i've got it all sussed , then it all started going wrong

 

now i'm relying on the spanish to save my integrity and show attractive football can win the tournament, and it's about time spain produced the goods when it mattered, another sangria anyone , but have to admit the ruskies have impressed me and as for the germans, bloody typical

the majority of my mates are Arsenal fans who are season ticket holders or members with the gooners. most of them say they would rather watch sn entertaining brand of football ahead of boring winning football.

 

personally, i would rather my team pick up trophies at the end of the season and play a brand of 'boring football'.

 

it's all about winning regardless of how you do it.

The Germans had another close call tonight of stepping off the pit as losers. They never could steal my heart this tournament with their game exept in their match against the Portugues. Tonight they have been the luckiest team. A nervous Lehmann in the goal, a lot of chances for the Turks to win. Already in the first half the Turks could have beaten the Germans. Tonight the game between the two teams in the semi finals, that could have been as well the final. Spain and Russia are the best teams in this tournament. Hopefully one of them will win the tournament, because they deserve it the most.
