Sukishi Charcoal Grill in Central Festival

Recommended Posts

Sukishi bills itself a "charcoal grill and Japanese restaurant." Presumably the charcoal grill part is Korean and the rest of the menu is Japanese inspired.

It's located on the 5th floor of Central Festival Mall on 2nd Road.

It's usually busy but not packed. Most of the guests are Thais and other Asians.

There are several hotpot and other table-top cooking restaurants on the 5th and 6th floors of Central Festival and I consider it my favorite. I really like the way the charcoal grill cooks the food and Sukishi features excellent raw ingredients. It also has very fresh sushi and sashimi and good prepared dishes.

I ordered the phoenix plate of three kinds of fish mainly because I wanted to take a photo of it, but it tasted excellent.

The cost of meal for three, including beverages (no alcohol) was 2,200 baht. However, a lot of that went to the sashimi and appetizers. The phoenix plate alone cost nearly 400 baht. By choosing one of the set platters of ingredients and accompanying it with rice, three could probably eat a filling meal for about 700 baht.

You are correct it is Korean B-B-Q with a Japanese influence. They are very popular here in Japan and are called Yakiniku restaurants which basically means fried meat. Love the place in the mall.
