A table of results post Covid would have left us 2 points clear at the top, thanks to Fernandez. An omen for next season? All eyes on Europa Cup now, its ours to lose.

Yes, should go hell for leather to win it. Gets us a seeding position in pot 1 of the qualifying draw.

Already drawn. United play Istanbul/Copenhagen in QF. Olympiakos/Wolves or Seville/Roma in semi.

All games are single leg to be played at Cologne for United.

I meant UCL draw for 20-21 season.

Europa winners get seeding in pot 1. Otherwise possibly get clubbed with Real, Bayern, PSG, Juventus along with another strong team in group phase itself.

Ed Woodward get going, we don't want a deadline day signing of Welbeck, Deeney or Pukki.

Our last deadline day signing Ighalo was a shock to many...but not to the folk that matter....let them get on with it they know far more about what`s possible than we will ever do.

And exactly who these folks happen to be?, certainly not OGS as he was definitely put on the backfoot when Rash got injured & Bruno had just joined after months of dithering by Woodward.

This is what OGS thinks & it makes sense unless Man Utd wants to finish 30 odd points behind the league leaders once again.

They're going to get what they want for Sancho, so it's just silly to think we'll bully them for a better deal. This way of thinking cost us half a season we could've had Bruno.

The 'allure' of playing for Manchester United has faded somewhat - teams are just as quick if not quicker to sign with Chelsea or Man City or Liverpool or even Arsenal. Chelsea's already had two big signings and we're still dicking around with our first.

The folk that matter know damn well what's going on - the owners and money people in this club are morons. It's Ole who's made the most of what he's been given.

It is even more pressing this time round knowing the new season kicks off on Sept-12 & if we go the distance in Europa then there's basically no pre-season to bed new signings in. New joiners will have to be drafted in the first team after a week's practice with the first 11.

Decent enough work-out last night, fair play to Lask for making a good fist of it.

Let's get this thing won now, 3 or 4 signings and get off to a flier in September.

Although the tie was over after the ist leg what a goal that opener was, copping it on the half volley and putting it where he did, in a word....perfection!

Great goal, one to tell his grandkids about.

I wouldn't be too perturbed if Sancho didn't happen.

I would rather build a war chest of 100mil and go straight for Jimenez and Traore from Wolves.

Both young players, now experienced in PL, just the kind of team Olly wants to structure. Just think of the pace and trickery we would have upfront.

Having said that, Dortmund said the same thing about Dembele and Aubameyang right before their deals got completed a couple of years ago.

Man, this team sure doesn't like to do things the easy way!

It won't be easy against Wolves or Seville in the SF either. Results matter at this stage, but performance has to sharp up a notch too.

Hope DeGea was watching their keeper tonight.

Might learn a trick or two.

He was probably watching Romero who preformed adequately in his place. Wouldn't be surprised if De Gea doesn't play for United again. Henderson is now back from Sheffield United and insisting that he will only stay if he gets a first team place. Chelsea are sniffing around him.

De Gea is still Spain's No:1 (just) and would still command a decent price, which would go some way to funding of the purchase of a truly world class centre back and, my God, we need one.

I've no problem with Romero but I'm far from convinced about Henderson.

Ah well. Considering how things started out this season, I have to feel more optimistic about next season than I have in a long time.

This was a team that started out 3-4-4, losing to Bournemouth the first week of November and putting us in 10th place. Four days before Christmas we were in 8th place at 7-7-5. Despite going only 2-0-3 after that we somehow were in 5th place at the end of January, after a home loss to Burnley (their first at Old Trafford since 1962), sitting at 9-7-8.

Thanks to a spark of lightening from Bruno Fernandes, we went unbeaten the rest of the way, 9-5-0, to finish 18-12-8 and secure a 3rd place finish and a spot in next year's Champions League. We went 15-4-4 in non-league games.

In a season where DDG did not have his best performances, our defense registered 13 clean sheets to finish tied with 4 other teams for the 4th most in the league and we gave up the 3rd least goals on the season.

We still have some work to do... and we still need a few more quality players... but we came a long way this season.
