Low Season? Not at Central Festival's Food Park

The bars of Pattaya may be suffering from a lack of customers, but that doesn't apply to the Food Park in the lower level of Central Festival Mall on 2nd Road. The place is crowded each and every day, mostly with Russians, Thais and other Asians.

I took the pics below at about 2.30 p.m. on March 24. It wasn't (EDIT IN to add negative) prime time, but there were an awful lot of people eating there. The supermarket next to the Food Park was also doing a roaring trade, same-same with McDonalds, Burger King, KFC and the pharmacies.

And the food at the Food Park? It rates a unenthusiastic "OK" from me, but considering all the better options close by, I can't see any reason to eat there. The crowded long-table format doesn't appeal to me, either. In a year of living at View Talay 6 (next door to Central Festival), I ate twice at the Food Park and that was because a friend wanted to eat there.

I have eaten there quite a bit, but I find that the portions are small and I end up spending more than if I ate at a regular restaurant.

But the selection is good and the g- friend has many choices.

Food sucks.... If I was hungry and didn't want to ride to big c for the food court I would have eaten at level 5 restaurants . Almost Same price and some really good noodle soups ..

its BETTER to be PISSED OFF then PISSED ON!!!..

Eating's for poofs, plenty of Chang available to satiate!

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

I like the food court

On a night pouring down rain- from VT6-- or lunch anytime-  it works for me

As far as the number of people in town go the low season is not as low as it once once. During my first low season the streets were quiet. In recent years there have been a lot more people around. The only difference is that there are less people in the bars That is probably not a good thing.

I remember eating here when it first opened and getting a seat was no problem at all, actually the place was deserted at times. But now, its almost impossible to get a seat where Russians occupy about 80%, not that I'm bothered as I prefer to eat elsewhere.
