Be very careful buying from the market, I bought 2 puppies (pomeranians) and both dies shortly after from parvo. Personally I would only but from a proper breeder now, meet the dogs parents and make sure the are of age. If you do buy from the market take them straight to the vet's and have the checked.

I am glad to say we now have 3 healthy dogs and are buying a 4th for my son in June!

Tuesday and Friday is it?

any idea's of cost and that?

Sorry no idea of cost, i just know they have them as Aon likes to have a look every time we go. As CG mentioned a vet check and immunizations would be my first stop. There is a vet not to far from the markets heading up Pattaya Tai towards Sukumvit on the right hand side, it is well signposted and pretty easy to find.

OMG I thought they were for food!

I was in Saigon and a puppy vendor was set up on the side of the road. I asked my cyclo driver if they were for pets or food, his reply, Up to you

In the past dogs rounded up in Thailand have made the trip to VN. I have seen photos of the stacked BBQ dogs. But, yes, dogs, rats, scorpions etc eaten by Thais.

Go to swiss bar on Beach road 2 doors over from Starbucks at Soi 13/1. Inquire about one of the pups from the resident soi bitch. She had a litter a year as well & theyre cute & friendly with a good disposition. Her new litter is about a month old. As someone else suggested bring the dog to the vet for vaccinations & neutering or spaying as well. The pup will be free to a good home. Please don't inquire if your just hungry for dog meat!

If you buy from a shop or from an owner the puppy should have a "vaccination  book" you should only buy a puppy older than a minimum of 6 weeks old.

Best if 8 weeks old by this time the vaccinations should have been started.  And the puppy will have learned the basics from the mother.

There is a good shop at the back of the Fri/Sat/Sun Thepprasit food market ( no connection I hope) 5555555.

Its the one next to the road some very nice Labs in there yesterday I was passing and had a look. There are a few of those toy dogs in there.

I have a 8 week German Shepard from there,  taken straight to the vet she told me the dog was in top condition and book all up to date.

If you need more info please ask.

Don't shop for a dog. Adopt one. Dog breeding in a place like Thailand is basically barbaric, in that the vast majority of them end up as strays.

There are quite a few adoption centres with hundreds of these cute throwaway dogs available for free, all bought before by blokes for daft girls who fail to realise a Dog = Responsibility beyond the 3 month cute puppy phase.

Yes there are hundreds of SOI dogs in the adoption centers YOU may find a few "good ones: however the Thais who look there for good ones will take them and sell them on.

If the OP is serious and has thought it through and taken advice from a dog owner ( good and bad points) then it is IMO best to buy a (known Dog).

For the record I don't think the Op or his GF understands the commitment needed to take good care of a dog ( looking at your friends dog for 20 mins ) is not a good guide.

My Thai Girlfriend says having a small Dick shouldn’t be a problem in a relationship I still wish she didn’t have one though!

  • 2 weeks later...

There are some dog rehoming charities in the Pattaya area, I have googled it and added a couple here.

You may not find the dog you want, but the centres would appreciate a visit.

MORE IMPORTANTLY...You thai patner will seehow important it is to treat the dog well..

I am not saying your Thia girl is irresponsible - I don't know her!.. but the uneducated just see the fun side of toy dog ownership
