ReEntry Permits

Featured Replies

If flying from Indonesia to the USA with a 5 hour layover in Bangkok does one get their passport stamped? My guess is no but I don't know for sure.

This is of concern to me because it involves the number of reentry permits I'll need without voiding a retirement visa. So I'm trying to avoid surprises.

Doesn't a retirement visa permit multiple entries?

As long as you don't go through immigration you will be OK.

My understanding, though I might be wrong about this, is that you must pay extra for either a single re-entry or multiple re-entry. And if I left Thailand without a re-entry permit then I'd have to re-apply for a retirement visa instead of simply renewing a retirement.

Tomorrow I'm applying for the retirement visa, which I anticipate I'll have no problems getting, famous last words eh, and am trying to figure out what to do about the re-enrty permits.

Ideally what I'd like to do is renew my retirement visa before I leave in January but that may be to soon. If I wait till a May return I'd have to reapply or I could renew in April which would force me to return for a soaking wet Songkran.
