Changeing Return Flight From Bkk To Man, Uk

Recommended Posts

Hello All

Just a quick msg to ask, if anyone knows the best way to change a return ticket, from bkk, to man uk??

I was supp to leave on the 08 june, return, on the 16 june, due to work reasons i have been extended by another 3 weeks

Is it best to go via the internet company you booked it with, phone the airline direct ot try a place in Pattaya??

I am working in the middle east but my misses tried in pattaya, no joy they said, is it worth going to a dif one, any places that you can recommand??

Please advise guys

Best Regards

Hey bud, it depends on what airline your flying, what kind of ticke you purchased, and the change rules/fees that go with your ticket.

If you bought it from an internet company, I'm 99% sure you bought a non-refundable ticket with a change fee. The fee can run in the neighborhood of $200 USD plus you have to pay the difference in fare if any. In my experience, unless you bought a full fare/refundable ticket, I would expect to have to pay something.

Since you are flying for work reasons, is your employer willing to pay for the ticket change?

Short of that, the only advice I can offer is to either call the airline directly or visit their main branch in BKK and plead your case, but don't forget to bring your credit card.

Good luck!

I have had the similar issue with my up coming trip

I booked thro ebookers.com for a flight from heathrow to bkk. rtn was the 20th june, I then thought how stupid i was in not returning on the 22nd which is a sunday as I dont have to be back in work until the monday.

I phoned thai airways and they said i could change no problem but it would cost £100

I phoned ebookers and they wanted £110, obviously they were charging £10 for their service! I'm still tempted to change but £100 is alot considering all the extra money i will spend in those couple of days! i think I might wait and see how the funds are going while im out there!!

anyone had any experience of changing flight details while u are in pattaya. as mentioned im flying thai airways thro ebookers.com?

any info greatly appreciated

It is nice to have a day or two to recover from jet lag before returning to work and remember flights can be delayed. Not worth paying £100 for an extra day in my opinion.

Hi Beefy

My mate changed his flight on Soi Metro, near the hell club, he told me it only cost 200 baht but it all depends on the ailrine, like bluejake 79 says, is it worth it 4 1 or 2 days., go home, chill out and save your pennies for the next tripe

Thanks again chuck, got in contacte with Opodo, they told me i can change flight with xtr cash, happy with that, phoening tomorrow after my nite duty..

I have changed a United flight at their office on Wireless Rd in Bangkok. After much haggling, I got a ONE TIME (their words) waiver of the $200 change fee for one portion of my flight. I was trying to change two legs, but they would only waive the fee once, i.e. I still would have paid $200 for the second change if I wanted it. I declined. Luckily, there was no price difference in the two fares, so it only cost me a few hours of my time. The agent was Thai, and after much smiling and joking, I asked if she would just ask her supervisor, another Thai, if there was anything they could do to help me and surprisingly it worked. I wonder if they put something on my account so I don't get the waiver again should I try. This was in 2004 BTW.

I don't know where any airline offices are in Patts, and I would change with Thai Air and save myself the 10UK.

Score one for the good guys! Glad it worked out for you. BTW, a little cash can make MANY problems go away.

anyone from the states recently changed their return flights?

and how did it go?

Give it 3 months and airlines will be fighting for customers...

UK to Bangkok flights have gone through the roof, what few rich people who can afford to fly will perhaps get decent "service" and will change your flight as matter of good customer relations e and not rip off customers as they have been for years...

Qatar want £140.00 to change a flight either in the UK or Pattaya...

Ethiad if you fly often £40.00 either UK or Pattaya

Any of the ticketing sharks e-bookers lastminute etc always charge the airline fee plus what they can get away with...

Sometimes a visit to the local airline office can have a positive outcome, never go into Qatar Offices they add a fee for serving you..
