does any 1 no of a corse u can do 2 teach in pattaya /bangkok

I have been thinking about this from a different point of view. If there was a certified ESL training program in Patts--who if anyone would join it? Would there be any kind serious demand for such a program in LOS?

feedback anyone?

What... service... may I do you? Hmmm? You know I demand payment.--- I brought payment. Look! BAM!! An undead monkey! Top that!

Try www.ajarn.com

I have read that it is very difficult to get a job in Pattaya as everyone wants to to it.

My moto for 2017: Don't argue with an idiot. Don't argue with.....

Contact ECC, they offer 2 courses for teaching English. One is the CELTA which is about 6 weeks and about £600 if i remember correctly and the other is a TESOL and lasts 2 weeks and costs about £200, both are accepted throughout Thailand. Once you get one of these pop into a teaching agency and they will have you out working the next day (in BKK anyway!) That was my experience anyway.

I highly recommend Text and Talk in Pattaya. It's located near TukCom, on Soi Day and Night 2. If you only plan to teach in Thailand, just get the TEFL certificate. Thai schools don't differentiate between the CELTA and TEFL certificates (it often is the same course, but CELTA's curriculum was developed by Cambridge).

If you contact Text and Talk, deal with Leigh in Bangkok (his ajarn.com handle is OEG). Leigh is probably one of the most knowledgeable ex-pats on work permit and visa issues. Don't deal with that guy Corey in the picture on the webpage. He's useless and just plays computer games all day.

If you want to take the TEFL in Bangkok, you should check out Text and Talk or AUA. I don't recommend ECC or TEFL International. There are issues with both of these schools.

I had a great time learning at ECC, was an excellent experience.

Was that Chonburi, and how long ago was it? The issue to which I am referring has developed within the last 3 months.

A comment about teaching English. Just because you speak the language does not mean you can teach it. Also, it is obvious from the various threads I read on Pattaya forums that most mongers cannot write English well enough to teach it. Aside from spelling, grammar and punctuation errors, I often see "to" when "too" is meant, and see "there" when "their" is meant.

What gets me is non-native English speakers teaching it. I have heard the most unbelievable stories about people with thick accents and the mistakes you just mentioned being hired for such work.

Ridiculous.
