My Mrs UK visa. Problem

Long story short she can't get her official Thai birth certificate. Her natural mother left her Dad and her at 3 months old. Her dad is dead now and she doesn't know what hospital she was born in.

I know she needs the birth cert for her visa (she has everything else) are we in trouble or is there way to rectify this or will the UK embasey listen to her problem and evaluate our situation?

dealing with "strict Bureaucracy" can be a nightmare sometimes.....but if anyone can sort this out - it would be Key Visa.

We had a similar problem some years ago. We went to the local ampoe office & Mrs Colin searched through their paper records and couldn't find her birth certificate.* We had a bit of luck as both her parents are still alive and her dad swore that she was his daughter. So we got a 'certificate of birthplace' from the amphoe.

We again applied for a UK visit visa for Mrs Colin last year with no problem, and without the certificate of birthplace.

What I'd suggest you do is explain the details on your visa application. Also, give as much information as possible about your family life. I'm assuming you want a visit visa, not a settlement visa. The thing they are really looking for is convincing evidence Her Indoors will return to Thailand and not vanish in the UK. What they want is evidence of property/wealth/family ties etc in Thailand that she would be unlikely to walk away from. Photos of you two with your Mercedes and palatial house would help.

* Probably because she was searching under the wrong date! Her passport says she was born on 30th December, but her mum reckons she was born around Loy Krathong.

she doesn't need a birth certificate for her visa application, her passport has her ID, date of birth, nationality etc

she does however have to give her mother & fathers names, DOB, place of birth etc but there are ways to get round this if any of this information is unknown, an explanation in 'additional information' on application and/or a letter submitted as a 'supporting document' explaining the situation and why the information is not known should suffice.

It is not so difficult,go to the ampoe where she is born,if possible with her mother, give the one you are speaking with a enveloppe with 2000 bath and he will make a birthcertificate for you,the Thai way, allways works.

Thanks mate.

Maybe i was not clear in the initial post

1. Her natural mother left her at 3 months old. She has not seen her since.

2. My Mrs does not know where she was born as her father id dead too.

Also please note this is for us to get my daughter  her UK passport not my Mrs Visa.

I know my Mrs can get a visa fairly easily. the UK stipulation says she must provide her original birth cert so we can get my daughter her UK passport.

She is 6 in june and after then we can never get her  UK passport.

All my fault i know as i should have done it years ago

If she has her fathers legit Thai last name (or merley knwos what it is) then it should be pretty easy for her (even easier for a Thai P.I.) to track down some genuine relatives who know her birth place, hospital, even find her mother (a relative whill knwo who she is/was) etc.  Thai last names are realtively unique to each family line - AFAIK there isn't the equivanlent of 100.000 Smiths or Jones's for example, in Thailand there might be 100 os so people who share your lastname & about a third will be closely related.  She could probably even find her relatives via facebook. ...find a cousin etc and the cousin will put her iin touch with cousins of grandparents etc - someone is bound to knwo her details.

We are trying mate. She has a very small family. In fact it's me, the step daughter. My 2 kids and her step mum. No aunties and uncles etc. she's not from the village. She's from UTapo.

Other good folkes like yourself including key visa are helping. All is not lost. The problem is time. Once my daughter is 6 in June she can not get a UK passport. It's something that is going to haunt me for the rest of my life as, like everyone reading this knows I should have got this done before she was 1 year old.

if your paying Keyvisa to sort your visa. You have hired them as a consultant why are they not sorting it for you or advising how to get it sorted? You should be pushing them to sort this. That's what you are paying them for isn't it?????

Have to say I had a terrible time with Keyvisa would not  answer emails etc. Answer questions etc eventually after 2 weeks finally asked for a refund which took another 2 weeks to get out of them.

So switched to Thai visa express who in my opinion have been stars, so professional , answers concerns etc within hours. Make Keyvisa look like a bunch of amateurs. That was my experience anyway I know there are good reports on here for KV but personally I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole again.

Thai Visa express Did a load of work assessing my girlfriends case before even a mention of money. Advised constantly on what was needed , how we got the missing paperwork etc. I wasn't in Thailand  they helped with my girlfriend direct how to get it all etc . WE have applied for a visa for her and her daughter. they did it all. Visa application went in last week just a waiting an answer now.

So if you are not getting the support and consultancy you are paying for might be worth changing over. PM me if you want more details. good luck
