The Bank opposite Soi 6/1 on 2nd road

Has anyone opened an account at the Bank opposite Soi 6/1 on 2nd road? I often exchange my money there, but have never considered opening an account there until now.

Is that Bangkok Bank? If so, I opened an account there with a tourist visa, but they wouldn't give me Internet banking until I got a 12 month extension.

Yes, it's the main branch of Bangkok Bank in Pattaya and many of my American friends have accounts there. Bangkok Bank also has a branch in New York City so many of us use the bank to wire money from the states...

I transferred a million baht via ACH last year. The transfer fees were only 800 baht.

Thanks for the info, I'll take my readies there and try an open an account.  Leaving cash in your room without a safe is always a worry so I'll definitely try this option and I'll keep you informed how it went on.

They also have a branch in London if you are a Brit it's near to the Gherkin
