Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 is Missing

As the title suggests, MH370 went missing this morning at 02:40 local time. The flight was from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, and was last contacted while in Vietnamese airspace.

 

The aircraft was a B777.

 

News reports here include "expert commentary" which says that for a B777 to just "disappear" physically and electronically, something serious must have happened, and one of the experts even used the word "explosion".

 

14 nationalities were on board

Chinese 152 + 1 infant

Malaysians 38

Indonesian 12

Australians 6 or 7

USA 3 + 1

NZ 2

Others were mentioned too quickly for me to get them.

Yeah, but in fairness to PenXV, easy to miss that unless you read every thread due to the very non-specific thread title of 'Breaking News' in the barstool banter section. At least 'breaking news - jet missing' would have helped. Very tragic event.

Agreed, the title of the initial post is somewhat ... lacking. Was just pointing him, and readers to come, to that thread to keep things together. Sad for the poor buggers on the flight and even more so for their families.
