Waxing your back (and recommended salons)?

So I'm thinking about getting a wax instead of always shaving my back and shoulders. For those of you who do this in Patts...

1. Any tips on procedure? Are shoulders too painful... is that a bad idea? I heard there are creams that numb the skin first?

2. Any place / salon you can recommend for a great wax?

Thanks!

The first few 'pulls' are bad but then your body kinda surrenders to the pain. Shoulders are ok, pain is worst where the skin is loose. I don't know about good places in Pattaya for back waxing, ask the ladyboys! :-)

I bought one of these and I'm very happy with it: http://www.amazon.com/MANGROOMER-Do-It-Yourself-Electric-Back-Shaver/dp/B000HQ0L2E It's not as smooth as a good wax, but it's good enough imo and no pain. Also no itching when the hair grows back. (The itching is really bad after 2-3 weeks with a wax).

Hope this helps!

Can't help there, but find and equally hirsute BM and instigate a 'i'll do yours if you do mine' conversation :GoldenSmile1:

Thanks man. I'll try the wax once now and see how it goes but if I don't like it that looks like a good alternative

What cream is that, do you have a link?

Do not do this on your holiday - you may get a bad reaction and your back may come up in loads of pimples and be very sore for a few days

Try it at home a week in advance and you should be fine

Was seriously thinking of having this done next trip, but now you mention that im not so sure, accompanied by hot weather and sweating like god knows what it could get rather uncomfortable.Might give it a miss and just use `imac`for men instead  :GoldenSmile1: .

ZEET, its in a pink toothpaste looking thing.I get at pattay central grocery on bottom floor.they have at 7/11 every where.its just a cream you put on for 8 minutes and the hair comes off.shit I use on my balls and no problem so back should be fine.

I'd recommend shaving as opposed to waxing. I had a very bad reaction to waxing and I still have some spots on my back from stubborn ingrown hairs. It was very irritating for many weeks. Shaving is no hassle if you can get someone to do it for you, or get that thing from amazon. My buddy has one and he says its awesome. Just shave every 2 weeks and your set. No pain and no irritation.

i let my ex do cream or gel before its painless very easy and smooth as fuck but nowadays i do wax before my trip whole back shoulders etc in my home city its cheaper then patts around 900 baht and it hurts a little bit but i,m out in about 15 minutes last a lot longer thn shaving or cream and it seems to lessen each time you do it doesnt grow back as fast around 4 or 5 months now. just do it check internet for a place near your home and do it couple days before departure and your set.........

You just have to walk around and ask each Salon, I went to one place and the lovely lady told me to come in and wanted 750 bahts to remove my chest hair, not bad considering its way more expensive in the USA.

Watch the movie "The 40 year old virgin". You will never consider waxing after that.

This is very helpful. I am very pale, but have lots of dark hair on my upper arms, shoulders, and back. Tried shaving and creams. Waxing hurts like a mother, at first. But I like having my back as smooth as a baby's bottom. I keep the chest hair, but trim it down to an inch or so a week before going on holiday. When I find a girl who can't take her hand out of my shirt, I know I have a keeper.

About 3 weeks before waxing your back its a good idea to shave it.

This way the hair will be not very long (therefore the waxing not painful) but still enough long to remove it.

I manage to wax my back myself  (almost completely),by using wax strips.

Much better option than warm waxing usually available in salons.

I tried the cream as well, but not a good option imo.
