Pak Thong Chai is a small Market town in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, some 35km (22mi) south of Korat city. It’s well known for its silk manufacture. Several well-known Bangkok Thai-silk houses have their factories at Pak Thong Chai. Local weavers turn out hand-woven silk material in more traditional design & sell there wears at the local market or shops.

The town is also well known in the area for its Temple Wat Na Phra That.It has an old chapel with beautiful mural paintings of the early Rattanakosin (Bangkok) period. The door of great hall where the Buddhist scripture is kept, is beautifully carved.

By the side of the temple theres a school where young lads(novice Monks)learn about the teachings of Buddha.

This monk was also a teacher & spoke perfect english.Inside the chapel.

This young monk thought he would make his friends laugh by covering his head.

One of my favourite photos.Boys will be Boys even if they are novice Monks.Have to say what a great bunch of kids.Happy joking about asking the same questions like what football team i supported, laughing,giggling.One of the high-lights of my trip meeting these guys

I think I have been to this place before, but to be honest some of these places start to look the same after a while, the first couple of photo's remind me of the centre of Nung Sung, looks like something from the wild west films (places built from wood) but these places are great to be in

Yep is a great area to visit, the only problem is its so big

Felt like i was living out of my suit case but wouldnt change a thing.
