It is massively different when the country is run by a war criminal who tortured and murdered his own people, used chemical weapons multiple times throughout history, and committed genocide. The U.S also didn't want to annex part if Iraq like Russia wishes to do with Crimea, nor was our invasion invited by an illegally elected Prime Minister... 

 

There is certainly some propaganda going on about how "troubled they are about the Russian violation of Ukranian sovereignty"  like invading a sovereign nation is something the U.S would never do  , but they aren't even close to being equivalent.
