hello Mates,

does anyone know of a good and cheap gym in patts? im looking for one near my  hotel on 2nd  Rd, and i heard really bad things about Tonys Fitness

any advise would be great...Thanks!

If you are there just for a short time Tony gym in soi Bukhauo on the first floor is just fine. Close to you and have what is needed. But it is small and might be very hot in summer.

I have been around here for 10 years. Unfortunaly, I can not say Pattaya have any good gym after Golden Gym on Third Road quit. The very best one I have found, is Bear Gym in Bunkanjana Jomtien (25 min on bike from Pattaya Klang). Any way, it has same problem like everywhere, overuse of aircon (if indoor gym).

Didn't even know Bear gym existed thanks for the tip.  I was using universal on sukhumvit and tony's gym 2nd and pattay tai.  This looks better I will check it out.

Yea if anyone knows the pricing on the Fairtex Id like to know.  I would think they sell protein shakes. Don't most Gyms. I like Gyms with lots of weights.

Universal has an 800B for 10 day thing going, otherwise 100B/day for day to day use.

universal is good and I just checked out Pratumnak Hill Tony's new facility on soi 5... outdoors but large fans and new equipment... I liked it not so busy and only 70 baht if you buy 3 passes and use in 20 days lol...

that's right around the corner from me, kind of an odd setup but nice at the same time.  Drove up around 8a this morning, nobody there.  After my 10 days expire at Universal I'm going to give Tonys a try, saw a Smith machine but didnt spot a squat rack or Olympic bars, I'll walk down later today and have a closer look

yeah close by me too.  I didn't even know it existed until went for dinner one night down that soi.  however don't think they have a squat rack but when I was there they were moving in equipment so maybe soon you can ask the guy working the desk speaks good english.

Checked out Tony Gym on Soi 4 in Pratumnak this morning as the rains started. Nice cardio equip, treadmills, stair climbers and a few older used spin bikes. Smith machine in the back corner, the a nice assortment of dumbbells along the far wall. Mostly cable and plate machines with a couple of dip and pull up stations mixed in. Not what I'm after but might work well for most and worth checking out

Thanks bro much appreciated. I'll check it out tomorrow. Using Tonys on third. Hopefully I can get a good workout at the Soi 4 one.

Dang, no squat rack, but a smith machine?

A gym cannot truly be called a gym without a squat rack!

Agree, a smith machine does not a squat rack make. So far Universal is the only gym I've found with both a squat rack AND a squat cage. I use the cage and set the bar when trying for PR's , never felt safe on the rack squatting weights I think I might not be able to complete a rep on. Bailing out on a rack just seems like a surecway to get an injury

Anybody doing the Westside Template?

Checked it out today and joined. 2 blocks from my house. Pretty nice set up. Can definitely get a good pump on all body parts. No squat rack for sure but decent leg machines. Nice new dumbbells and some new machines. Only bitch no lat pulldown but guy said a lot more stuff coming. Totally stoked so close to house.

Try Fairtex Gym on Pattaya Nua

Can price be negotiated there? I negotiated at Tonys on WS.

Castra Gym is nice  clean gym.. I don't think its a gym for the dedicated body-builder types.

As well as the free weights in front of mirrors it has modern machines and electric running/walking/rowing/climbing machine that the die-hard muscle men hate to see !

Has a room for spinning, aerobics etc.

It on the darkside so you need a scooter, but that was a plus for me, I enjoyed going for a long ride out and back

I used the service of the personal trainer there - I forget his name. it was a few years ago.. but he was good.. but relentless ! no breaks and 5 days aweek
