Department of special inspection (DSI) have conducted a raid to arrest illegal foreign tour companies after receiving many complaints from local businesses in Pattaya.

PATTAYA – February 12, 2014 [PDN]; at 01.00, at the DSI operating centre region 2, , Mr.Prawit Chaibuadang, director, and officers went out to inspect and arrest illegal tour companies run by Russians throughout Pattaya, after they received lots of complaints from Pattaya and Chonburi tour guide agencies.

Tour guides is reserved for Thai citizens only. The police arrested 7 suspects after conducting their inspection.
The arrested were investigated and cooperated with the department of business development where they gave information about their work. But because they were immigrants they might have committed a crime against the bill of immigrants’ business of 1999, code 8 (3), and code 37, where they could be imprisoned no more than 3 years or fined around 100,000- 1,000,000 baht.

After initial investigation, they jotted down the record and the 7 suspects were sent to the police station at 4 to Muang Pattaya
