BANGKOK – February 8, 2014 [PDN]; at 11.00 p.m. Pol. Maj. Natthavuth Funmongkhol (Inspector of Prawet police station) together with Pol. Capt. Thongchai Kaewtha (Deputy Inspector), Pol. Capt. Sitthidech Harnjing (Deputy Inspector) mobilized forces of police team to arrest Mr. Anan or Nan Kongthip, aged 27, address 27 Moo 3, Tambon Ban Na, Amphur Maharach, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, with exhibit of 1 Samsung S Advance mobile phone. He was arrested in front of Krawanich Co. Ltd., Suwinthawong road, Lam Phak Chee Sub-district, Nong Jok District, Bangkok.

Pol. Capt. Thongchai revealed that on January 23, 2014 at approximately 2.00 p.m. while Mr. Charoen Muangmanee, aged 45, was parking his car at the entrance route of Karnjanaphisek road near Thap Chang turnpike, Sa Phansoong Sub-district, Sa Phansoong District, his documents fell on the floor so a driver of a white pick-up truck (didn’t know its brand and license number) stopped to help him pick up the documents. He then took the chance while the victim wasn’t looking to open the car’s door and steal the victim’s mobile phone and 500 THB then fled the scene.
Later on the police detected that Mr. Anan Kongthip was the culprit because he used the stolen mobile phone so the officers arrested him in front of Kraiwanich Co., Ltd., Bangkok.

Upon questioning Mr. Anan Kongthip he confessed that on the day of the incident he saw the victim picking up his documents on the road so he helped to pick them up and while the victim was running to pick up documents on the other side of road he took the chance to open his car door and stole cash and a mobile phone. Initially the police charged him with the allegation of stealing property or receiving stolen property then sent him to the investigation officer of Prawet police station to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
