Hello,

I have been reading an assortment of visa posts on this forum and others.  I have also been reviewing the Visa information on the Los Angeles Thai Consulate Website.

I plan to arrive in Thailand April 3, 2014 and leave May 30, 2014, a 58 day stay.  I would like to apply for the Visa through the Los Angeles office now.  The Visa should be issued within about 10 days according to the website.

The website says the following: "A single entry must be utilized within 3 months from the date of issue."

Am I covered assuming that the Visa is issued sometime around Feb 20th give or take a couple days which is about 6 weeks prior to my arrival?

Thanks

Why apply for your visa so soon? Why not apply 1 month before you leave? Worst case senerio you will always get 30 visa on arrival, and would have to do 1 visa run, that is easy since you will only be there 58 day. You can visit Cambodia or make a trip down to Malaysia for a free visa extension, the plus is you can also visit the southern parts of the country, and the cost is minimal, no need for hotel stay, you can catch a return bus within hours of your getting the new visa.

It most likely is cheaper then a 60 Day visa.  This is only a suggestion.

Have fun and enjoy.

Cheers

I would wait until about a month before. That way there will be no issues if you need to postpone the trip a little. There is no need to apply so early.

You have to enter the Kingdom of Thailand within 3 months of visa issue, not the date of the end of your trip.  Enjoy.

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

correct.

but as you get your passport stamped on arrival make sure the officer has put the correct date on his stamp and given u 60 days rather than the standard 30.

any mistake can only be corrected at the airport !

Thanks for the comments confirming the parameters. Wanted to make sure I was interpreting the website information correctly.

Make sure that you write your visa number on the immigration arrival card, then there is less chance of getting 30 days in error.

Good idea about the VISA number.  I plan to check everything closely before walking away from the Immigration booth.  Thanks.

Will now start exploring some lodging possibilities in Pattaya/Jomtien for about 7 or 8 weeks.  Would prefer a condo/apt if possible.  With high season winding down I suspect that I will find good possibilities.

I appreciate all the replies to my original post.
