Police Arrest Teenage Gang Who Stole Motorbikes To Order

CHONBURI – February 5, 2014 [PDN]; at 6.30 p.m. Nong Kharm police station, Amphur Si Racha, Chonburi province, Pol. Maj. Sommit Phromtong (Inspector who is the head of the Cars Larceny Suppression Center Section 2 together with the operators team made a statement about the arrest of the “Krathing Lai gang” which was a large gang of teenagers that had stolen motorbikes in the area of Amphur Si Racha and Amphur Banglamung. The defendants were a 19-year-old male teenager and two 17-year-old male teenagers.

Pol. Maj. Sommit said that they had investigated that stolen motorbikes had been delivered to a house 229 Moo 2 Tambon Banglamung, Amphur Banglamung so they went to inspect the house and found 8 teenagers were disassembling motorbikes and there were also motorbikes parked in the house. After inspecting the 3 motorbikes the officers found that a navy blue-black Honda Sonic motorbike, license number KHOR JOR NOR-694 Chonburi had been reported stolen at Nong Kharm police station, a white Honda Wave motorbike, license number KHOR JOR KHOR-545 Surin, which had a fake license plate and was reported stolen at Laem Chabang police station and a navy blue-black Honda Wave motorbike, an unattached license plate, was reported stolen at Banglamung police station.

Upon investigating the defendants, the police perceived that the teenagers who stole the 3 motorbikes were Mr. A (alias), aged 17 and Mr. B (alias), aged 17, and the head of the gang was a Mr. Montri Mosoongnern or “Tree Krathing Lai”, aged 19.

Mr. Montri said that he would order the 2 male teenagers to steal motorbikes in the area of Amphur Si Racha and Amphur Banglamung for customers. He also said that they had stolen more than 100 motorbikes in the past year and would sell the bikes for between 2,000 -4,000 THB each to buy amphetamines.
Therefore, the police of the Cars Larceny Suppression Center Section 2 charged the 3 defendants with the allegations of stealing property and sent them to Nong Kharm police station to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
