CHUMPHON – February 4, 2014 [PDN]; at 9.30 a.m. Pol. Col. Passakorn Na Phikul (Superintendent of Pak Nam Chumphon police station, Tambon Pak Nam, Amphur Mueang, Chumphon province) was notified that there was a man who had been shot to death on Chumphon – Pak Nam road, at the T-junction of the ascent to the view point of Matsi mountain, Moo 4 Tambon Pak Nam, Amphur Mueang, Chumphon province.

At the incident the officers found a blue Mazda pick-up truck, license number KOR KHOR 2206 Chumphon, parked in the middle of the road which had collided with a white Toyota Yaris car, license KOR NGOR 6131 Chumphon. The officers couldn’t find the pick-up truck driver.

The officers also found that the white Toyota Yaris had been shot 7 times in the windscreen. Inside the car was the corpse of Mr. Theeraphong Shinlong, aged 37, dead in the driver’s seat. He had been shot with a 9 mm gun. He was hit in his left arm and body 4 times but the officers found 7 cartridges.

Upon questioning the eyewitnesses they told police that before incident occurred they saw the pick-up truck chasing the car when the pick-up pulled in front of the car after and the pick-up truck driver identified as Mr. Boonchai Yokhawajorn, who is a father of Mr. Theeraphong’s wife, got out and started shooting at Mr. Theeraphong. He shot 7 times hitting him 4 times killing him. Then when Mr. Boonchai was certain that Mr. Theeraphong was dead he fled the scene leaving his pick-up truck.

However, initially the officers assumed that the cause of this incident might be a revenge attack on Mr. Theeraphong who always assaulted his wife. The police will rush to arrest Mr. Boonchai to prosecute him according to Thai law.
