A Mindless Individual Leaves Grenade At School Polling Station

A mindless individual left a fake grenade on a car park of polling station at Ban Nern Plub Wan School. The police believe that it was left to scare people away from voting.

PATTAYA – February 2, 2014 [PDN]; the journalists of Pattaya city, Chonburi province reported about a situation where a bomb was found at the voting sight of the election of Members of the House of Representatives for both the party-list system and the constituency system which in the region there are 7 with a total of 143 polling stations and 121,718 eligible voters which in the morning there were few voters in overall polling stations.

At 7.00 a.m. a Mr. Aphisit Sukhontharos who is the Chairperson of Polling Station Committee of the 18th polling station found a grenade, size M26, that had its pin taken already and was put on the car park of Ban Nern Plub Wan school, Moo 5 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province which was the polling station of region 7 and there were more than 10 polling stations inside which Mr. Aphisit Sukhontharos revealed that in the morning he came to inspect the polling station before opening it to the public and found the bomb so he immediately informed the police.

At 10.00 a.m. on the same day Mr. Theerawit Thongnork (Director of The Provincial Election Commission of Chonburi Province) together with Mr. Pongprakarn Soodnooch (Deputy Director) and the officers of The Provincial Election Commission of Chonburi Province went to inspect the scene and checked the readiness of the officers at the polling stations then Mr. Theerawit revealed to the officers that he had inspected the bomb and found that it was a training bomb and he believed that the culprit wanted to cause difficulties at the polling station.
