Mysterious Fire Burns Down Marine Corps House

SATTAHIP – February 2, 2014 [PDN]; Pol.Capt.Saijai Kamjulla, detective officer of Sattahip, was notified that several houses of non-commissioned marine officers, soi Jonladonsuksa, 9/5 moo 1, Krommaluang Shumporn camp, Sattahip, Chonburi , so he sent fire trucks from Sattahip Naval Base, marine Corps, Sattahip Municipality,and Khet Udom Sak district municipality, to stop the fire.

At the crime scene was three 10 booth mortar building, the location of the fire was on the second floor of house number 810/738, of 1MSGT Petcharat Lamdabwong, house owner, the fire spread from his house to the next 2 houses, 810/737 and 739 belonged to, 1MSGT Chaiya Thongkam, 1 CPO Apiwat Ruangrong, the room on the left, and the one on the right the fire was too fierce with black smoke pouring. It took 10 fire engines and lots of fire fighters 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. The damage is estimated to be over 1 million baht, but luckily there were no injuries or deaths.

After asking Supattra Lamdabwong, 14 years old daughter who lived in the first house that got burnt said that she was watching TV on the ground floor of the house when suddenly she could smell burning and there was smoke coming out of the storage room upstairs. She rushed to see what was burning and found a pile of burning fabric on the floor. She then ran to get a bucket of water and cried for help, but the fire spread too fast and she couldn’t stop it in time, so, she ran out of the house.

Pol.Capt.Saijai Kamjulla, detective officer revealed that the caused has not be concluded yet and it was going to be investigated thoroughly to find the precise cause of the fire.
