Mother Drowns Saving Her Daughter

A 3 year old girl who fell off a house boat into a river was quickly rescued by her mother who jumped in to save her. The mother became exhausted and drowned before she could be rescued.

PRANAKORNS SRI AYUDTHAYA – January 31,2014 [PDN]: at 15.30, Pol.Lt.Capt.Pittaya Srirueng, detective officer of Pranakorn Sriayudhaya police station, was notified that there was a person who had drowned in the Pasak river in Thamonjan industry mill, moo 5, Bankoh, Bankoh. So he went to check with rescuers from Ayudhaya Ruamjai foundation.

At the crime scene on the river bank they found the body of Mrs.Anong Thinutai, 34 years old, wearing a red t-shirt and purple shorts, there was no traces foul play. She had been dead for about 1-2 hours. Also at the scene was a Mrs. Thongyou, 76 years old who is the mother of the deceased, she was carrying Nattawarn Thinutai, a 3 year old, and was the daughter of the deceased and her grandchild.

Mr.Thongyou revealed that before it happened, his grandchild was sitting on the hose boat but she needed to go to the toilet but on her way to the toilet she accidentally fell through a hole into the river. Her mother then instinctually jumped into the water and rescued her daughter but she could not swim but become exhausted and drowned.
