For those who are already currently in Patts, could you tell me what the hotel availability is like? In your experience (for those who recently arrived at the hotel), do you perceive them to be full ?

 

I will be arriving May 1st and I have not yet made a reservation (I have been told that walk ins + a little haggling can be cheaper than reservation). I am planning on trying out the Eastiny Bellavista first, if not that, then the sunshine or chaiyapoon inn and if not that, then Sabai Inn on soi 2 (though that takes me far away from soi 7/8). Since I'll only have a small suitcase with me, I can afford to lug it around during my search for a room.

you will be fine in the Bella Vista,

i have stayed there 5 times in last few years and no trouble getting a room. and been mostly oct and march time.

you will be fine in May, i will be walking in there on the 9th of May, and also haggle the price down, and get a room overlooking pig and whistle, as

the rooms looking down soi 7 can be very noisy.

Bella Vista Hotel was OK.

But make sure you ask for rooms facing soi 8, not towards soi 7. Definitely loud noises from construction outside.
