Foreign Cyclist Dies From Heart Attack

A foreign man who was out cycling with his friends along a road in Amphur Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province collapsed to the ground suffering from a heart attack. He later died in hospital.

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN – January 28, 2014 [PDN]; at 10.30 a.m. Pol. Lt. Thinnaphan Sujjanan (police on duty of Hua Hin police station, Prachuap Khiri Khan province) was notified that there was a foreign man who had suffered a heart attack while riding his bicycle in Hua Hin. So he rushed to inspect the scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Hua Hin Tharmma Satharn foundation.

At the incident the officers found a Mr. Altan Oscar Walzer, aged 63 a Swiss tourist lying on the road and was breathing mildly. His friends had assisted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him. The rescuers then rushed him to Bangkok hospital (Hua Hin) where he later died.

After questioning the deceased’s friends the police perceived that previously Mr. Altan took a trip to Amphur Hua Hin with a tour group of approximately 60 Swiss tourists and stayed at Thanawit hotel & Spa. Before incident happened Mr. Altan rode his bicycle with about 10 foreign friends along a road looking at the scenery but suddenly he felt pain in his chest and fell off his bike. The officers assumed that it might because of a heart relapse or heart disease that caused the heart attack.
