Gas Truck Overturns Nearly Causing An Explosion

A gas truck carrying over 100 gas tanks over turned causing the gas bottles to be thrown all over the street. Some of the bottles started to leak but the driver was able to quickly turn them off preventing a disaster.

SATTAHIP – January 26, 2013 [PDN]; at 14.00, Pol.Capt.Nares Boontee, detective officer of the shift was notified that there was a gas tanks truck which had overturned on the Sukhumvit Road, Sattahip-Pattaya inbound, in front of Singsamut Secondary School , Sattahip, Chonburi., Over 100 large and small gas tank were strewn all over the street. The police rushed to the scene with fire fighters and rescuers to shut down the traffic.

Asking Mr.Dee Kamphakdee, 22 years old driver of the gas truck said that while he was driving his Isuzu pick-up truck registered 84-6125 Chonburi, which was full of gas tanks that he was delivering to gas stores in Chong Samaesarn, a car cut him up which caused him to suddenly swerve flipping the truck on its side and all the gas tanks were strewn all over the road. He and Mr.Apichart Ma Iam, 38 years old helped him to turn off the gas valves immediately before it exploded and was lucky that the accident wasn’t fatal.
