My Day at the Dentist

I know there has been a lot of various questions and comments about dental treatment so I thought I would share my experience from today.

At home in the uk I have private dental care but have to pay for anything considered to be cosmetic. As I wanted my teeth whitening it is safe to say that this is classed as cosmetic. Knowing our dentists as I do there a good chance a chipped tooth would be classed as cosmetic so they could get you to pay :)

I decided to visit a dentist I had read about in central festival mall. Coming in from the 2nd road side the dentist is on the 4th floor on the left hand side and is called Dentist @ Beach. It has a web site if anybody needs to check it out dentistbeach.com

It was only my intention to have a look and see what was available at this stage. Walked in and sat down in front of the receptionist who spoke passable English. Told he I wanted teeth whitening and she gave me a laminated sheet with the different types available. There appears to be about 3 or 4 different types from where mould is taken you put a chemical cleaner in over a period of time to various types of led and laser treatment.

The dentist was in reception at the time and he started to explain the different types of treatment. Suffice to say I decided on the most expensive laser treatment which was a cost of 6000 baht. Once I had decided the dentist asked if I wanted it doing there and then, why not I said, I am here now let's get it done.

After filling in a form with name address, any medical problems etc all in English, I paid the fee and was taken through to the back.

There appeared to be two surgeries with just a curtain separating them, as I was having my treatment an Aussie guy came in with a problem and I could hear everything he was telling the dentist and his treatment. I could imagine this May get off putting if you can hear any screams from some painful treatment somebody may be having.

The dentist explained that he would start with a scrape and polish which took about 45 minutes. In the uk this takes around 15 minutes at the most which gives an indication of how thorough he was. He then rubbed in some grit like substance and preceded to grind this in. After about twenty minutes of various pre-treatment it was time for the laser. All this time I had my eyes covered and could hear the dental assistant gently singing away to the radio in a very soothing manner, I was dreaming all sorts of naughty thoughts about her.

I was sat us a bit and the dentist put all sorts of things in my mouth so that I couldn't move. This wasn't uncomfortable at all and was not a problem. The dentist then went to work on the Aussie guy next door an left me in the capable hands of sweet singer and another female dental assistant that arrived. The laser was turned on and. Was left to it. After about 10 minutes the dentist popped his head in said something in Thai and all of a sudden I had some glasses on, sweet singer had obviously forgot this bit.after about 40 minutes or so of nothing there was a noise on the machine and I could feel a hand placed over my eye area. Then there was about 6 quick flashes of the laser.

I assumed I was done then, oh no there was another 40 minutes or so of just laying under the laser. Just laying there doing nothing and the mind starts to wander, wandering to the soapie on the first day, then losing my Soi 6 virginity, bliss blow job bar and the MClub girls. I was starting to get a little stirring down below thinking of all this, quickly realising I had a mouth full of foam, a laser on me and laid on my back with two Thai girls talking away about things I could not understand. I realised quickly I wasn't in a position of strength.

After the laser had finished the dentist had come back and sprayed something else onto my teeth and then proceeded to extract the foam from my mouth, some of which felt as though it had dried on :) a bit of easing and it was off. A quick rinse and the mirror was shown with the results. Wow what a difference, worth every single baht I paid.

The dentist told me to keep off coffee for two days or if I had some to use mouth wash as soon as possible and advise me to have the treatment every year or so. Well if that's not a reason to come back next year I don't know what is, instruction from the dentist is good enough for me.

The place was spotless, the dentist and he receptionist spoke passable English, the treatment was very professional and I would recommend it to anyone who want a nice scrub up of their teeth without paying western prices.

All those thoughts were acted out in his current trip report. Worth a look.

I found your report really interesting, I'll get my teeth whitened next time I get to Pattaya. In the UK it costs about £400.

BTW I just had a tooth implant in the UK at a total cost of £2.310, it's probably a lot cheaper in LOS.

Nice report and good timing as I am looking to get it done in a few months. Now all I have to do is read your report for a few weeks to see if the laser caused your gums to rot or your eyes to melt and if not then I am good to go 555

no problems as yet and can still see the little thai tits in the Go-Go's but I will report if anything untoward happens in the upcoming weeks.

Great write up, thanks. Hoping to get my teeth cleaned at Dental Hollywood in a few weeks and will do a similar report.
