A woman from Phrae has been found dead in her apartment by some locals who noticed a foul smell coming from her room. The initial cause of the death was due to excessive blood loss but her body was sent for an autopsy to find the real cause.

CHIANG MAI – January 24, 2014 [PDN]; at 3.30 p.m. Pol. Lt. Withun Rueangchaidecha (Investigation police on duty of Mueang Chiang Mai police station, Chiang Mai province) was notified that there was a putrid smell of the decomposed corpse in an apartment which was located on Phrapokkrao road, Soi 3 Tambon Phra Sing, Amphur Mueang, Chiang Mai province, so he rushed to inspect the scene together with the rescuers.

At the scene officers found the corpse of a woman named Ms. Tiyaporn Dueanphen, aged 29, address 20/2 Moo 10 Tambon Nam Cham, Amphur Soongmen, Phrae province. There was a lot of blood in the room. The officers also found 1 pair of scissors covered in blood and a decomposed corpse of new born baby that was stuffed into a plastic bag in the toilet.
The officers perceived that Ms. Tiyaporn (the deceased) had been staying in her apartment for over 4 months and previously she lived with her friend but the last 2 months she stayed alone because her friend went to work at Uttaradit province which Ms. Tiyaporn always kept quiet and didn’t talk to anyone and she was also in the final stages of pregnancy.

Initially, the officers assumed that Ms. Tiyaporn might of eaten Haemagogue to abort the foetus or she might have given give birth by herself and cut the foetus’s umbilical cord then stuffed the foetus into a plastic bag in order to throw it away but she bled excessively so she tried to come out from the toilet to call for assistance.

The officers will try to contact the deceased friend who was staying with her previously to ask her if her friend had any problems to try and find the cause of Ms. Tiyaporn’s death. The officers will send the body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Maharach Nakhorn Chiang Mai hospital in order to perform an autopsy to find the actual cause of death again before contacting her relatives to pick up the corpse to perform religious rites.
