PATTAYA – January 24, 2014 [PDN]; at 11.00 a.m. Pol. Lt. Col. Watchara Sukkul (Investigation officer of Nong Prue police station, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province) was notified from some bystanders that they found the remains of 3 motorbikes that were thrown into a pond at the side of Mabprachan reservoir, Moo 3 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, so he rushed to inspect the scene together with forces of the police team and the skilled divers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmmasatharn foundation, Pattaya city.

At the incident near a water pump station approximately 500 meters from the main road the officers found a pond which was 15 meters in width and 20 meters in length and 1 meter in depth. The locals had already lifted the the motorbikes out of the pond. The bikes consisted of a red Yamaha Fresh license number KOR PHOR LOR-167 Kamphaeng Phet, a black Honda Nova S motorbike, license number KOR KOR LOR-93 Chonburi and a black Honda Wave 125, license number NGOR NGOR THOR 353 Chonburi . Only the wheels and some parts were missing so the skilled divers dived into the pond to look for any more parts. Furthermore, the officers also found 1 cartridge size .38 on the ground and traces of a bonfire.

Upon Questioning a Mr. Jarin Nokwon, aged 53, he said that previously that some local people informed him that they found the remains of motorbikes at the side of the reservoir so he called the police to come to inspect. He told police that there are always groups of teenagers hanging around drinking in this area.

The police assumed that the 3 motorbikes might have been stolen by the thieves who took off the parts they needed and threw away the remains into the pond. However, the police will inspect the incident further to follow up and arrest the thieves and prosecute them according to the Thai law.
