Upon questioning the boat driver, the officers perceived that he was taking 20 foreign tourists to 4 islands according to the tour program but when the boat was approximately 1 km from off shore it started taking on water and quickly sank. Luckily at the same time a vessel from Phi Phi islands was passing so the passengers were quickly rescued.

Initially, the officers of Harbor Department of Krabi region are now inspecting whether the long-tailed boat was overloaded or not and they will prosecute the owner according to the law if found guilty.
